So guess it's time to deal with the Purge

At best it’s representative of 1 and a half races. There’s very little Silvermoon represented in Dalaran/Kirin Tor with the elves often having little more than token presence on the Council where they get outvoted by humans 7 to 1.

Nightborne and draenei are also heavily arcane influenced races who have no historical stake in Dalaran at all. Other races like gnomes and trolls have arcane traditions too, though aren’t as central to their society. It’s honestly weird as hell that humans are the main arcane race when their culture is no where near inundated by arcane as blood elves, nightborne, or draenei.

Part of the problem is WoW really only has 1 arcane class while in lore arcane covers a massive range of things beyond what that 1 class accomplishes. It’s the only cosmic power with only 1 class(and limited to ranged DPS at that).

Pretty much, i fully doubt that they will make it satisfying at all for horde players, they have been incredibly unwilling to treat alliance crimes the same way they treat horde ones

We’ll just have to agree to disagree here. It simply doesn’t read as humanocentric when I go there in game.

This is not about the individuals, but the organisation itself.

It have never been about the individuals.

Oh Drahliana you can be so brutally but hilariously honest! LMAO!

Honestly, this is what worries me a bit… but I’m trying to stay positive for the story bits.

Accountability in this fantasy setting of War, has been a very dubious theme in WoW for years now deepening on the stories bits on the expansion and NPCs involve it seems. (IMO)

I know it’s been speculated and if not written or tie in well into the events/story, it would be terrible way for a closure, but honestly I am leaning more and more that Jaina turns out to be a Dreadlord, heck throw in Aethas (dude always covering his face has my Alliance friends speculating on him being the Dreadlord anyway) or even Baine if you like, let player unleash the frustration both side at a Boss Piñata and let it END, even if it feeds Xals power! It be so worth it!!! (IMO)

Although I think Dreadlady Jaina and even a DreadTauren Bain art desing would look incredible and would only make these more popular! lol

Blizzard will never call Jaina out for being wrong. Anyone who is part of the alliance to any degree will be shown as justified.

I’ve been saying this since Shadowlands… Anduin is going to split open like an egg and C’thun is going to pop out

Actually, it won’t be closed unless the game acknowledges that Jaina committed WoW’s version of Kristallnacht or the Syrian Hama Massacre.

from the vague hints that this island is reused BFA content, and that the Kul Tirans were mining azerite there, I hope there is more on Ashvane and how she managed to strike a deal with both Sylvanas and Azshara.

Yeah, I think she’s an underrated villain.

She was done away with far too fast in my opinion. I hope there’s more to uncover that might fill in some story.

dealing with the purge would mean Jaina and Vereesa actually get to feel some real consequences. And we know that will not happen.

Well that was…unexpected. Personally I feel quite a bit of cathasis knowing Jaina gets to burn down Taelen’s notes. I am still pissed we still dont know what happened to him.

Seems the Kirin Tor will continue as an orgnization even if Dalaran doesnt.

Guess nothing about the Purge and from the looks of it its just the Dalaran survivors uniting with the “mistakes” being more about Kel’thusad and the Mana bomb.

Ofc they weren’t gunna touch the purge with a 10 foot pole, there is no way to make that subject have a good conclusion

Bold of you to assume post-MoP Blizzard would ever portray Jaina as being wrong about something. And yes, I’m aware that Aethas allowed Garrosh to use Dalaran as a staging area for the bell heist, but that still doesn’t justify Jaina’s response.

The event is literally called a purge. The negative connotation was 100% intended in MoP. Unfortunately, the post-MoP writing team completely white washed the Alliance’s moral ambiguity and I see no reason to believe that this will suddenly stop being the case.

I’m not sure its totally off the table yet, not until we deal with the elves in Midnight.

Sh*** I thought I was over this… Now I intrigue about this stuff again!!

STOOOooooop it blizz!! lolol

PS: Don’t stop Blizz I do love when you guys tease on stuff like that… I guess I’ll have to log in and check what’s up now! :yum:

Aethas has always been a filthy traitor. He is just as bad as Baine and Calia are.

Purge of Dalaran is in the cool stuff limbo together with Garithos and greenskin being used as a common in-universe insult, I sincerely doubt it will ever be mentioned in the game again, especially with the current story being so toothless.

Blizzard wants to use Aethas for something. Under the “Purge? What purge?” approach of amnesia over the purge, he has little other background. So I think they are redeveloping him independent of the purge.

My guess he is a future Jaina sidekick so they don’t have to always use Thrall. His following Jaina around is getting embarrassing.
