something i noticed on the character select screen is that it now shows the horde/alliance icon next to the name of the character, that may be something they put so that if they go down the path of letting you be whatever race you want in either faction, to help show off if your character is part of whichever faction you chose even if that race wasn’t originally (like night elves on horde or undead on alliance)
