Ohhhhh 4th spec incoming
They all come from maldraxus I think. Unholy is a no brainier, frost magic can be see at the house of rituals and by litchs, blood magic can seen in one of the world quest where you make a potion using blood and multiple enemies use there blood to attack. Revendrath only uses anima which has a red tint but it is not blood
Eh, it fits the theme. Most Necrolord stuff is ugly visually. Thatâs kinda their thing. Different strokes for different folks, but Abom Limb is a helluva big burst CD when you combine it with Army, Unholy Blight, Apocalypse at max stacks and Dark Transformation with the firery chains talent.
Its also grating on the eyes. Thing is not all dk stuff has to be ugly. Which is why I find kyrian so fascinating. Plus I like shackle. But yeah different strokes and all that.
The power coming from there doesnât have to mean it reflects a zone for each type.
Frost is just⊠cold. A lack of heat.
Blood magic is used by other groups of people on Azeroth.
Unholy is mostly just diseases and necromancy, which is honestly little more than making an inanimate object animate, only specifically dead bodies.
Itâs like, magic, man.
Also as someone else pointed out, we only saw 4 zones in SL, thatâs not all of them.
Not only that but if we have to chose a section then Iâd say kyrian is more appropriate considering they know more than anyone the process of souls and unholy is technically all about resurrection and souls.
Heck if you talent it and speak to the unholy trainer in legion acherus you can summon a valâkier and from whats been said about them is that their origins stem from bastion. So it makes sense.
Well no, of course not. Itâs not that all DK stuff is ugly, just all Necrolord stuff. What with all the bones and the green and the postules and things. I feel like Unholy is the perfect match, becauseâŠâUnholyâ, but like you said, different strokes. I think itâs great that we have the option to choose what we want.
I mean Iâm fine with bones and what not, heck my fire mage is necrolord because skeleton mage form is just so fun but out of all covenant zones I fell in love with bastion. Elysian hold is just beautiful and if I can be a bit vain, its the only covenant hall I can mount in and fly around in.
Plus blue angel girls cause why not.
Yeah, I still get confused trying to figure out where tf stuff is in there, but aesthetically, itâs the best looking sanctum and being able to fly is top notch, plus, I really like the transport network. Mikanikos is probably also my favorite soulbind in the game, just because summoning Bron feels really satisfying when he just knocks back everything. Though if I had to be a complainer, Iâd say that his knockback should be a stun instead, because often heâll push things away from my Warrior, which is annoying, lol.
Kyrians are solid though and I love Bastion as a zone.
I love when Bron comes rushing out. I dont summon bron, bron comes when bron wills it. Like Gandalf.
Plus he gets a boost from my mastery which I found to be interesting if what I read is true. Seeing him rush out and knock back other players in bgs or mobs im fighting is just awesome.
I love green, i love the disease theme and undead necromancy theme, i love a lot about Unholy Death knights⊠What I absolutely hate is the festering wounds mechanic. On top of that the spec is slow, the 100% rune regeneration rate doesnât happen as often as it should or if it does its barely noticable, Death coil takes way to much runic power compared to frost strike so the chances of it proccing per rotation diminishes, its just not a fun spec to play at all. At least for me anyways.
Blood is ok I feel like they could use some runic regen too. I think heart strike shouldnât cost any runes or runic power but have like a 4 second cool down or something, while blood boil now costs a single blood rune that way if you need more aoe aggro you can do so by spending runes instead of waiting for that timer.
Frost well i was never big into frost themes, nor do i care about the blue color. However currently for me this spec is the most fun spec to play. Its very fluid and fun to play, there isnât a lot of inaction and if you do get it to that point you can have an auto attack build enhanced that helps.
But Necro Lords for the win! (at least for death knights)
This was technically answered. DK powers and runes came from the rune language that the Primus used when making Maldraxxus. Domination magic took those runes and changed them up a bit and then the dread lords ported the helm and frostmourne to azeroth.
The Lich King gets his hands on it and uses them as the basis for all his stuff.
I prefer kyrian. Considering dks spells come from pretty much the concept of death itself and each zone as well as the numerous others we canât visit are all death based then it stands to reason any zone fits dks fantasy.
As for unholy yeah its slow and the wound mechanics suck which is why I went for more of a minion heavy playstyle. Incorporating the summon valâkier spell and with Mika as my soulbind I get bron as an additional minion, then apocalypse and army and my screen is pretty packed but its fun.
I think these pretty much explain the âlogicâ behind the âempowerment of DKs from the ShadowlandsââŠif one can even apply logic to a universe of magic.
How about Teron Gorefiend and the other 1st generation DKs⊠and the necrolytes?
Oh man, AU Teron Gorefiend would have been so upset to know that one particular version of his eternal soul that is only one soul but is also all of his souls from alternate universes and infinite timelines because thatâs what Danuser said is what happens is a deathknight bound to the Maw because death magic reasons and stuff⊠and the rest of his separate souls from alternate versions of himself that is also just one soul because reasons is a fully corrupted demon that one would assume goes to the Twisting Nether like other powerful demons such as basically every eredar ever (and weirdly not GulâDan and AU Gulâdan?)
SoâŠ
What happens then?
Not really, the power of the DK is based on the shadowlands, mostly Maldarxxus, but their power comes from the runes in their runeblade, the DK use runic magic (possibly basic domination runes). It stopped being relevant a long time ago, but according to wotlk his power comes almost entirely from his runic weapons.
