I’m glad you’ve conceded that my list was right.
Never conceded a damned thing. If you’re going to be a petty child, the least you could do is actually have a point.
The fact that they’ve enabled Cross-Faction for so much stuff but not Guilds is really frustrating, exceptionally irritating, and unbelievably annoying.
It’s a matter of fact that the exodus started due to Mythic raiding, and Cross-Faction as it is address everything but Mythic raiding. I dearly hope the community finds a way to track mixed group Mythic kills for ranking purposes, so everybody can play on the faction they want.
I don’t see why it would - at least in a situation where guilds themselves receive proper reformatting. When I party with a Horde player they are still hostile to Alliance NPCs, so it leads the belief that guilds would keep that same caveat.
Cross-faction guilds when.
Dope, let’s do it. We can have FFA areas like in Legion and be able to quest together.
I’m glad you conceded to our point that factions in the open world as a limitation needs to go.
You can’t have cross-faction in the open world because everything from which vendors and flight masters you can use, to whether you get auto-flagged for pvp or not, is hard-coded into your faction.
They can disable faction stuff inside instances (they’ve been doing it since they added merc mode in WoD for Alliance players) but outside of that bubble, factions are hard-coded into too much of the game.
It’s conceivable that you could have a cross-faction “guild” where nobody can trade items (unless they enter an instance) and nobody can travel together or do quests together, but… that’s not much of a guild.
And to all the people who are reflexively going to post “YOU’RE WRONG” I’m not wrong, I said the same restrictions would apply if they implemented cross-faction grouping, and LO-AND-BEHOLD I was 100% correct on all of them.
So what I’m hearing from you now is, Blizzard needs to finally take steps to address the evolving state of the game needing cross-faction guilds and actual neutrality/cooperation in the open world.
Glad we’re finally on the same page.
You mean the restrictions that both Blizzard themselves mentioned and Wowhead dug out?
You can read. Impressive.
This needs to be done.
This sounds like a bad excuse to me to avoid mixed Mythic raiding. I mean, if Blizzard were not acting in bad faith, at the very least, they would’ve reduced the size of the “Guild Group” needed for tracking Mythic kills from 80% (16 people) to 55% (11 people), so we could raid with 11 players from one faction and 9 from another, and raid kills would still be tracked.
An easy hotfix, but are they going to do that? OFC NOT!
There are already lots of neutral flightmasters and vendors, though.
Even when there aren’t enough neutral NPCs, if a mixed group can kill 20 nagas and then the Alliance have to report back to the Ankoan base while the Horde report back to the Kelfin base… that’s still cross-faction cooperation beyond what we have now. Let alone if both factions are already reporting back to the same venthyr, or dragon, but mysteriously can’t team up to kill the exact same mobs.
There are some zones where the factions have incompatible storylines or are actually fighting each other and this wouldn’t work. Fine. But that’s a minority – and a tiny minority in SL and (by all appearances) DF.
All your takes are terrible and you should soak your head.
You have your head buried in the sand.
Just remove factions, make us all mercenaries and let us switch our “allegiance” via an arbitrary quest. In the end we’re still just all mercs so we can group with whoever we want.
ORC: I wanna join the alliance!
Alliance: Oh yeah? Prove you’re worthy and bring me 20 pig livers, 15 linen cloth and 1 Ice Cold Milk
ORC: Ok me can do that.
Dealing with the fallout of everything Sylvanas did as Warchief is “ZERO faction involvement?”
Lame mysterybox story telling and two more years of putting up with Mary Suevanas running roughshod over the narrative, then pissing on WC3’s grave, will do that.
LFR and LFD should be cross faction already.
