So Calia and Derek

Yeah, they will end up being a faction in the future. But what to name them?

The Redeemed?
Lightsworn?
Vegan Undead?

Both factions have plot armor. That’s just a product of the writing team that can’t produce a story with depth.

Malfurion should have been powerful enough to wipe The Horde from Darkshore before they got anywhere near Teldrassil.

But he didn’t. Because that would make for a short story. So The Horde gets plot armor, and he gets “nerfed” in power for the story to make sense.

The only writing with any meaningful story this expansion, was Jainas arc on Kul’tiras, and how she suffered and dealt with her baggage.

“This lore abomination race that doesn’t even exist in-game and would be a painfully redundant addition to the good guy faction who just got holy space goats will totally be an allied race!”

I will fight the concept of holy undead being a playable race in this game until the day I die.

They’e not “Undead” as you know them.

They’re not rotting and decaying corpses with holy eyes. From what we’ve seen with Calia, her body was restored, her wounds healed, and she became a living conduit of The Light.

Unlike Undead who decay and become more liking to Shadow.

Being resurrected by The Light and by Necromancy seems to have stark differences.

Plot armor isn’t inherently bad. The problem is, when its not used properly, it comes across as bad writing.

You could have plans for a character halfway through a book so they have to survive. The key word there is “survive”. People tend to forget that survival doesn’t mean you can’t be hurt or suffer.

However, Blizzard tends to rely on “contractual immunity” instead of “survival”. IE there can be no permanent change to the character until plot calls for it.

I’ve done stories where I had plans for characters, but I was perfectly willing to have them injured, left bedridden, broken arms, the works. They “survived” but it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

Introducing the new Abomination Allied Race for the Alliance, countered by Ogres for the Horde?

Stiches look good in blue-gold bikini

Just because they are a man and a woman does not mean they are a couple…

Also, undead can’t reproduce.

are undead really so far fetched when the alliance have void elves?

im not certain what their whole deal is but the ones i kill in island expeditions are no bueno.

I’m totally for light radiating/infused “undead” on the Alliance. I wouldn’t be so happy with the Forsaken models, though… At least if they have bones exposed through armor and such still.

I thought it was well established that technically Calia has no allegiance to the Alliance, just like Faol has no allegience to the horde. Their allegiance is the the priesthood and the light.

So why everyone keeps jumping to the conclusion “alliance get holy undead” seems silly. Also, we know most humans still find the undead repugnant. Except for the few that looked passed the undeath of their loved ones.

You can talk to Umbric personally about Void Elves and their motivations.

He says their loyalty to the Alliance is not out of convenience or debt to Alleria.

But rather he and his ilk never had a loyalty to The Horde. And after Garrosh and now Sylvanas they don’t believe The Horde is capable of using their power responsibility.

Also, most of the island NPCs are just jokes.

You better not by talking about my girl “Stabby” Lottie.

“Fix the fires, fix the explosion! Hrr! Slavedrivers!”

“It can work and explode, the two aren’t mutually exclusive you know!”

The beast in the woods just might be your salvation. It would be great if they could restore a kingdom for the NON wacko forsaken so they could live in peace.

PEACE…say it 100x Blizzard stockholder writers ! SAY IT

they invasion void elves act petty similarly

and their severed heads glare back according to flavor text. that’s gotta be evil.

I am just tired of this push to put Alliance races on Horde. Horde races on Alliance. When we have so many unique races already available to pick from.
