So Blizzard, are you going to fix Mort'regar anytime soon? Or do we get to suffer through this for the entire expansion?

i think montregar is bugged or something.

i tried earlier in the week and the last boss was apparently impossible, kept spawning adds and standing in his own buffing pool of green stuff.

then i went and tried again later in the same week ; it was a completely different boss and easy af this time around…

i was really surprised to see a different boss, so much easier.

apparently itll be really hard or really easy depending on what last boss you get.

Um I beat it no problem…you have to take it slow due to the torment amping up the magic damage. Along with using your traps to cc the elites. You can break them up, kill one then pull the other. Hell as hunter you should be able to pet tank no problem. Just take it at a slower pace and you should be fine.

But it’s so easy though

One of the only two times that I died in Torghast was due to this: I’m running back down a chain and must have clipped a link which caused me to “bounce” a couple of feet to the side and fall to my death. I laughed and moved on but I was also thinking “really?”

Getting mad at other posters isn’t going to help you any.

I get you’re frustrated but that’s how it is in Torghast, if it get’s you this wound up that you lose your self control then step away.

Acting like a toddler isn’t getting you any sympathy either.

You should have stepped up your game and tried again, that would have been the grown up thing to do, instead you tell others to get bent.

Have a better 2021 man, loosen up and stop taking your issues out on others.

Elites just take them one at a time. You can pull the junk around them to get rid of that until you’re just left with the elites. There are very few packs that are linked. If you do get a bad pull just burn down the junk and feign until you’re just left with the elites.

WIth 2 elites ice trap one, put your pet on passive, fire a single arrow at the other one and disengage or just run back. When he’s far enough away from the ice trapped one, send your pet in and burn him down. Once alone, the other one should be easy.

I always use a ferocity pet (Clefthoof) because its leech plus Mend Pet stands him up like a champ. Tenacity pets are terrible. Having an on-demand pet bloodlust from ferocity also helps a lot for the final boss.

Always purchase the +30% damage potion if it’s for sale and save it for the final boss, using it just after you enter combat.

I have found most BM Hunter anima powers to be nothing special, but there are a few general ones that are of interest.

  • Get 3 of the ones that further improve the slowing aspect of Tar Trap and you can get it to 95% slow
  • Get 1+ of the ones that heal you and your pet for 5% of your max health and you both become extremely tanky. Those stack as well, so 2+ of those and you’re golden

You aren’t going to get any serious advice acting like a child, insulting everyone, including the development.

Step 1 is be a better person before you worry about being a better player.

When you are through with that, let me know which elites specifically you are having trouble with and why, and I can try to help.

Also, keep in mind that the difference between layer 8 and 7 is only 40 soul ash, despite layer 7 being something like 65 percent easier.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been talking to a friend about their troubles in Torghast during which they ask me how I handle pulling huge packs. My answer: I don’t pull huge packs, I single pull anything that looks like it might be an issue. Often the response is “how do you single pull?” Saddens me but the anecdote is true.

It is glorious, I love it

It was only once I tried it with him but I can safely say I won’t be doing it duo again. It wasn’t his fault, we were doing everything right cc, interrupts etc etc, moving from crap… it was just unnecessarily difficult.

I prefer soloing it anyway, my own pace and not relying on anyone else to make sure they don’t fluff it

I was just trying to be a nice friend helping another mate out!

I’ve done 8 Mort on prot paladin, Spriest, ele shaman, and balance druid this week with 0 issues (I died twice on the shaman and once was from falling off the chain). My priest is 200 ilvl, but my other toons are all 180s and my druid doesn’t even have s legendary crafted yet.

My buddy has done it on his druid, a ret paladin, and a WW monk (who doesn’t have a legendary), and his rogue.

My brother had done it on his prot paladin and his warlock (who didn’t have a legendary).

The only elite mob that should be giving you any issues is the one who casts the healing absorb. Any other mob in there shouldn’t be much of an issue, especially as a BM hunter. I cleared this on multiple toons (survival hunter being one of them) on beta before they nerfed everything whole at a 198 ilvl with 0 issues. Just have to get creative. Use your traps. They are invaluable. Skip packs of you have to (smoke bombs are amazing for this for non’stealthy toons).

If they nerf things more than they already have, it’s gonna be the most boring slogfest in the game that even the maw would seem fun.

I easily cleared 6 on this on my first try.

It’s all about the power ups you get though. I got the one that makes the black pools heal you instead of damage you which makes the whole thing a breeze. And my gear sucks BTW.

My problem is with the Watchers of Death end boss. I have no idea how to beat him.

I have cleared up to level 4 on my Paladin but I find that clearing level 3 on my rogue is practically impossible.

Dunno, the combination of the spell damage increase combined with the boss spawning both death zones and adds that like to stand in the death zone shooting magic beams at you and I simply can’t last long enough to kill the boss.

I’ve tried multiple strategies (DPS rush, taking down the adds, ignoring the adds, etc.) and I simply don’t have enough damage, healing, and damage reduction/avoidance cooldowns to be able to get the boss below 1/3rd health before losing out on the race.

Yea, I don’t like that wing. Too much poo on the floor.
The boss hits like a truck.

Oh and the elite respawn that always pops when you are least ready to handle it.

I just got to the end of Mort’regar on layer 6 with my enhancement shaman, though I couldn’t defeat the last boss. It was all manageable right up until then, but unfortunately the last boss was basically 2 shotting me (AND my earth elemental, which is when I know I’m really boned, haha).

I was happy anyway since I mostly went in for the daily calling thing, and I had looted my 150 doodads already, so I was done.

It was a good and fun challenge. Maybe I could do the last boss with some better luck with the powers, or better strategy, who knows. Looking forward to trying again sometime.

I thought a Rogue was making this thread at first lol.

prioritize agents, and interrupt the “terror” cast. EZ PZ.

What I find more annoying is the dang ambushers…

I mean… I just completed layer 7 of Mort. It’s definitely not impossible. But annoying, yes.

Finished both as a mage post nerf. Mage and rogue is the worst class for this so you should be able to complete it.

If you can tel me your spec, ilevel and maybe I can help you.

Both the ones this week gave me a headache. I mean literally, my head hurt from the annoyance. I probably could have eventually done them but this is a hobby and it is supposed to be fun for me. I enjoyed the ones last week. So in the future, I will just not do it the weeks that these two are up.

What I didn’t like: (this was not Morg’regar but the other one for this week) I didn’t like the mobs dive bombing me while I’m trying to get off an aimed shot or heal my pet. I hated getting feared off the sides of the platforms. I didn’t like the large groups that you couldn’t pull separately.

I guess I liked last weeks better because I could be careful and slowly work my way through it. This week, I couldn’t even stand there and read the anima choices without being divebombed by those #$%#$ mobs. So for me it isn’t that it is impossible to do, it is that it was too annoying to me for me to persevere.
