Guess its what you define as easy. I don’t find wow that difficult of a game. The hardest part for me is finding a ce group I can both fit into my schedule and enjoy being around.

In the overall scheme of thing wow at its hardest difficulty is on par with most adventure games give or take. There are harder games out there but would put wow as average.

It all is, so.

the game is and has always been painfully easy, especially once they removed systems that artificially gimped you like their pitiful hit rating and weapon skills where the mobs had a completely different algorithm than the player.

a class can have 2 skills or 100 skills, wouldnt change the fact that most of that complexity is false complexity. having 5 skills that all do the exact same thing, its a level of false complexity and redundancy that just make people think they are more clever than they actually are.

this is why when skills get pruned people get upset and use words like ‘dumbing down’ to incite ire and anger in their fellow player.

Most of the people who also point out that your question is based on a narrative, not a factual statement. Which essentially means… most folks who view the game differently from you.

Which is overwhelmingly the general consensus in this thread.
So, to provide a simple answer for you: most people in the thread, especially those who disagree with your opinion of the game. Which are the people you repeatedly ignore to keep this thread alive.

Irrelevant. People say it’s not easy, I want specific examples of it not being easy. Not my fault that people can’t answer a simple question.

It is easier with addons and over gearing content. Mythic raiding is hard, high level keys are hard, and rated PvP is hard. I am using the word “hard” loosely because it also depends on the player, their pc setup, and just their reaction speed.

The only thing that makes WoW hard is the unknown variable that are other people and their skill and lack thereof

The game has a broad spectrum of difficulties making it as difficult as you choose it to be. However, it is incredibly difficult to play any spec optimally (>95 parse) in a mythic raid encounter.

I’m gonna be that guy, if you can’t find any level of enjoyment in what changes then the game isn’t for you. You and I aren’t the demo graph they should be targeting, of course they’ll do what they can to appease those who have been here for years but their goal is to get new players in and if the game seems too overly complicated to pick up no one will join and the existing players do not help the problem by alienating them and being elitist pricks.

How does one answer two hypothetical scenarios that they feel to be untrue?

and like anything else in life, the more you work at it, the better you get and ‘easier’ it is.
Im sure someone just coming into the game is going to find things harder than someone who’s been at it for years.
Its all a perspective thing.
Not to mention some people are just more naturally inclined at things others have to struggle with.

Yeah well look through my other posts. Any time I complain about the game being easy, and complain about removing buttons, people tell me that the game is hard (and that I just suck), and we need to remove buttons because it’s too much for new players to handle.

So this time I’m asking for specific examples as to why those two general sentiments are a thing, and, as usual, no one can give me a reply.

My conclusion, based on that, is that the game is not actually hard, and people are just actually lazy / bad.

Since you are asking as to why abilities get changed or removed as a whole it is usually for 1 of 2 things.

#1 Blizzard is not able to balance around the amount of damage that ability does and it flat out trivializes any encounter that they can make. For this example, I will use the Cata to WoD version of Combustion. Combustion in those times use to be a DoT that you could snapshot your buffs to empower the ability to do more damage. This issue was AVERAGE PLAYERS didn’t know how to optimize it and it did maybe 10k damage over all, where as the top end players could make that do MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS of damage. For video evidence of this, go to YouTube look up Preach Gaming’s “Legacy of the Mage” video and start it at 24:52.

#2 This can potentially tie into the reason above, but if 1 spell/playstyle is so strong, Blizzard can’t change anything about them. For this example I will just use Unholy DK Single Target Burst window. Unholy use to be the strongest burst CD class in the game. It was not uncommon to see Unholy on the start of every single boss fight do double or even sometimes triple people’s damage. They were and still are the strongest PI target in the game because they scale quadratically with Haste, meaning that giving Unholy PI when they have all of their CDs going will do 4 times better then say your brother Kevin playing a Ret paladin. The point is, the amount of burst Unholy DK was able to do made it so Blizzard could not do any type tuning adjustments for them and it held the spec back as a whole.
