So am I misunderstanding or will Classic Be Wrecked

I thought Wrath was the high point insofar as storytelling goes. Dungeons even heroics were way undertuned. I really liked the tougher, more classic Cata dungeons. Although there were many things I liked about Cata (the expansion areas but not the wrecked Azeroth) overall, I didn’t like the changes to character builds and the game itself.

Panda was a much better expansion with the most fun character builds imho ever. I liked the farm, the beautiful areas and the dungeons were hilarious.

WoD is when this game went into the old crapper for me. Trying to kill player flight was just one massive idiotic move that unfortunately, heralded a long list of subsequent idiotic moves.

I have played every beta including SL, and I haven’t bought an xpac since WoD. Haven’t played retail much since then either.

I agree that features like LFR were met with mixed feelings. For my part, I think a raid tourist mode is great and makes the end game story available to more players. But the pretense that it is “raiding” and the crying about gear rewards is asinine. If you don’t actually raid, you don’t need raiding gear. End of.

LFR should have been renamed LFT Looking for Tour. Maybe then it would have been better received by more players

You will move on with your characters to either tbc or classic era. Same name same realms, same friend connections and community.

Nothing changes, no need to “move” anywhere. Dont worry

/sigh I’ve explained how polling works so many times here. Blizzard has all the information they need to create a representative sample. They know how many people play only classic, how many people play both, and how many only play retail. They can even break it down to hours played weekly. With all that data they can create an extremely accurate representative sample and get a very accurate poll of the players. Statistical analysis isn’t astrology. It’s a science. I know that science is out of favor with a large segment of the population now days but it still works

Mythic raiding is really the only and first thing anyone says when defending retail.

I just dont like cross realms. I dont like LFD/LFR. I don’t like LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulty. I like doing BWL and it being BWL. The gear I get is the best it will be. It’s less about difficulty and more about the same gear just slightly better stats. Why not just make the raid hard. If you wanna complete it then get good.

I don’t like how legendaries aren’t legendary. I like how they worked in Vanilla and TBC. Everyone having one makes them less legendary. Sure, a lot of people do have TF in classic but not every single warrior has one. If TF was in retail every single player would have it by the end of the xpac. Blizzard would make sure the rng worked that way. Just like very few people are going in to TBC with Atiesh.

There are several other things I don’t like about retail (WoW Tokens) but it would take forever to list them all here. I originally quit in Legion. Played pservers for years. Now I play Classic. Can’t wait for TBC!

Broke it up into paragraphs to make it easier to read.

Hey I’m glad you’ll be able to clone your toon to a TBC server. I think the idea of reliving WoW’s progression is a bit crazy, but it’s not up to me.

Have fun!

once you finish everything on one character what will you do? just do it again on different ones in tbc or wrath? i too am trying to figure out where they’ll stop and which version i should invest in. (not getting into the FRESH argument here btw) just curious how you’ll play once you’ve played through once on the existing servers.

The story telling AND the music in wrath were amazing. I can still hear the music in Icecrown from memory.

Dungeons even heroics were way undertuned.

TBC heroics were not though. When we first went in to them people had a hard time with many of them.

I was soooo excited for Garrisons. Boy was I wrong on that front. I don’t know why they just don’t do like they used to and make us pay for flight at max level. Like in WotLK when we had to buy cold weather flying.

I knew LFR was gonna be bad as soon as it came out. My guild joined it with like 18 of us and we needed on EVERYTHING and then traded it amongst ourselves. The other 7 randoms who got put with us had the odds stacked against them for gear. Obviously, looking back it was a messed up thing for us to do… but Blizzard really should have forseen that happening and not let it be a thing. I would never do anything like that in the future. Sometimes we make mistakes. Gotta learn from them.

Thank you

I won’t clone my toon to a TBC server actually. The current servers we are on will become TBC servers… if you want perma classic you will be cloning.

Wrath was the tipping point, there was a specific patch even (Argent Crusade?) that is often noted as being where the game took a decline.

I won’t clone alone.

I understand what you’re asking. I don’t really know yet. It’s something I will have to figure out when the time comes. I might reroll on another server in TBC era for instance and start over there on a class I didn’t play in TBC. I already have plans to have every class but paladin and shaman at 60 before TBC. However, I do not plan to raid on all of them. They are gonna be tailor/alch “bots” for me. Maybe I’ll be a main tank next time around… who knows. It really depends on how all the changes pan out too.

argent tournament stuff with trial of the crusader (aka the most hated raid that isnt dragon soul) where you had to do annoying dailies to collect 9347593573485 cosmetic items? XD

Never said you would.

It may be but most classic players quit wow before, sometimes long before shadowlands. I played WoD, Legion, and BfA getting more and more unhappy with the game. I quit in BfA about a year before Classic was released with no intention of ever playing wow again. SL might be great but I doubt it and I’m not gonna waste money to try it out

They’ll make fresh vanilla servers a few months after TBC probably. It’ll be fine.

Yep thats the one. Thats where you had to run the same raids over and over, in multiple difficulty/size, and grind your daily quests. It was where I quit with half my guild/raid.

No need to get snooty with me dearie. Save your lectures and /sigh explanations.

It is axiomatic that 100% of survey data was taken only from those players who responded to the survey.

Jousting put me off. Yep that was a bad patch.

i don’t blame you. i don’t play at the level a lot of you guys do. so for me it’s just putzing around in the world doing my WQ and leveling and things like that. my wife wants me to raid with her in tbc though. and i’ve only really committed to kara. i guess for me it depends on how sweaty the guild we end up in ends up. XD i like that classic and tbc raids are so much easier than current tier lfr. i am not the best player (like average or a bit above) and stuff has gotten so difficult in retail at even the basic difficulties that a lot of casual people are just like… forget about it. lol
