Because the rogue/hunter/ cant toss a 12 second immunity on and run away if things get bad. Rets were the most broken class ive ever seen. Still OP with the current changes but nowhere near what they were. Thank God.
Absolutely, if you sit a full HoJ you are going to be hurting. Im talking more of a group PvP settingā¦. Its tough to stay in target once HoJ and freedom are on CD.
A rogue has to stunlock you multiple times and if you have a trinket they might need to get creative with vanish/sap ect. A paladin hits you with a judgement and it triggers 10+ more things that hit you some critting over 1k. The most ive seen was 15 hits. It was over so quickly i had to check my combat log and count how many times i was hit. At least with the damage reduction as a tree i can now be godmode ans heal most burst enough to run away.
I die to rogues in a single stunlock if I canāt trinket or bubble, they donāt need multiple resets to kill.
Havenāt tried playing my Druid as resto yet but my priest is R13 and feels pretty solid⦠I see druids just tanking melee while running around hotting themselves. Priest canāt quite do that but I feel like survivability is pretty good.
Rogues are not killing you in a single stun. They need multiple stuns linked together to take a player from 100 to 0.
You of course are defenseless without a trinket but the speed of the kill is much slower than a paladin. Plus the rogue isnt putting a bubble up immune to about 99% of any classes damage if someone comes to help.
Geared rogues are tough with cooldowns. Paladins hit like trucks without them.
You die in a cheap/kidney combo to decent geared rogues.
while true, they use energy on the stuns, lowering their damage, but their damage is so high, and chaining the stuns is so easy, that its basically a guaranteed 1v1 kill in many situations
nowhere near as bad as just walking up to a plate class and oneshotting it for 7500 dmg like Rets can do atm.
You donāt even know whatās happening, you just died to a ret and went straight to the forums.
rogues have killed me in 1 cheapshot consistently, let alone them having kidney shot, gouge, 2 vanish, 2 blinds, and 45 sec sap
This guy is in here delusionally crying about rets when heās in glass cannon gear fighting players with external buffs. Typical abralan behavior really. 4.5k HP lol a boomy can kill you in ONE cast.
Itās the same feeling as Shaman tanks but more specs being that insane.
Itās extremely boring but undeniably comically OP
Still doing far less damage then the others in full pvp gear, thanks blizzardā¦
Just get MOMā¦
Pre March 20th phys dmg nerfs or post? Pre I believe it in open world, post March 20th I donāt think a rogue can do 6k+ DMG in a cheap shot stun, would need to full stun lock to get that dmg out (assuming no world buffs or anything like that)
Warriors have always been bad in 1v1 PVP, even in original vanilla. Youād however get laughed out of any conversation for saying vanilla warrior was bad in PVP, because they were ungodly powerful in group play. Just as they are now. Itās really frustrating that value of a class for PVP is only determined by whatever random metric someone decides after losing a 1v1 in the open world.
I really enjoy taking 6k damage in a full stunlock three times over against a rogue. 1v1 a paladin should never beat a rogue that knows their class and has their cds. Even as a dwarf able to invalidate blind I will get killed by their 3 full resets.
Thereās plenty to complain about for the people that have played the class past random leveling and actually know how the class feels over several phases. Ret paladins are in a pretty good place overall, but there are some serious issues.
Mainly the lack of counters to the ranged nukers, boomkins and hunters will just kill you before you can get in close. Better make the most of bubble because if you donāt you will just be dying over and over again. Purge utterly guts the class and thereās basically no counterplay to it. You cannot easily stick to targets or lock them down like other melee, this matters a LOT in group content were controlling the range of motion for enemies is very important. Itās why in group PVP you always want a warrior paired with the ret so they can actually get their damage in.
The biggest issue is that ret did not get a utility based wide kit, they got a damage based vertical kit. What paladins needed was not more damage, but more utility and support for their groups, ways to buff allies and control enemies. Instead that went to warriors. What rets got instead was the highest single target burst damage in the game for melee. But itās very specific and oriented around either the niche of seal twisting or the Core Forged set bonus with the shoulder rune for AQ 3-piece.
But the moment thereās someone that can actually tank the damage output from your globals, or a purge effect, you fall off a cliff lacking any staying power solo.
Itās not a bad thing, but itās not the class fantasy. If I wanted to play a melee nuker I would play a rogue or warrior. I wanted to play a battlefield tactician/support class with some melee damage but more so being a tanky nuisance creating havoc. Tossing out off heals, providing buffs to allies, and interrupting and interfering with enemies.
The shoehorned hyper burst is a problem, because solo we lack the tools to sustain it like other ranged classes have, and in group play it becomes a problem where we cannot be granted any QoL or anything. Itās a major development block that restricts the design of the class.
Freedom
Bop
Dispel sheep/trap
Sac
Horn
Tremor totem rune
Loh
You have a ton of utility
Bro you gotta learn to play the game if youāre losing to rogues on a dwarf pally Iām sorry lol
Wear pvp gear. Isnt that what youāre telling people who are being globaled bu paladins? Iām working on my 3rd high warlord and itās uncommon not to see a minimum of 5 paladins per team.
Stop coping. Rets are broken in pvp.
5 of any class attacking you is going to wreck you lol imagine 5 boomies or 5 hunters. Your literally died in an instant lol
It seems everyone raging in here are people who try to 1v2 1v3 1v4 in battlefrounds and get wrecked so they rish to the forums and blanket statement a class bc they couldnt pull off the 1v3
while lame, it still doesnt feel as bad as some keyboard turning paladin one shotting you for 7,500 dmg in a single gcd
5 warriors might not, you might still do less upfront damage than a single ret paladin lol
oh no, that BiS warrior autoed me for 380 and special attacked for 390. Then the ret did 7,500 in a gcd
