Considering the restrictions are once again ENTIRELY POINTLESS as many transmogs arguably make you look like a walking circus and are jokes like a fish or shovel, I don’t think it matters. At all. So no, i don’t see where he’s coming from and nor do I care all that much considering once again it’s an attempt to restrict what other people do.
Your point also is completely destroyed when you see an elf wearing an “orcish” or savage mog, or an orc a “pretty” one. There’s no theme. People can wear what they want for the most part and it’s very stupid trying to control them because “but they should play exactly as I see fit and to every cliche I like”. It’s simply unreasonable.
And to the final question, look around. Do they now? I mean, I play on a roleplay server. Most of the mogs I see are serious if the character is a fighter, or less dramatic if they’re a civilian. Removing restrictions won’t suddenly change that as people entirely have the means to put on what they want anyway. Look at what I’m doing with my glasses. I wear them anyway over my helm unless I’m doing content. I can either have nothing on at all (No helm shown) or mog my glasses over them with restrictions lifted. It won’t make a difference.

I agree with that. But while more wide is the variety of options, will be more possible seeing people wearing in a way that don’t fit with the theme of his class or race.
Keep things like mog items made of “X” material with other items that are made of “X” too, i think it’s ok (example: leahter with leather). Mog two-handed weapons with others two-handed weapons, range weapons with range weapons, dagers with dagers, and so on.
Heritage armos became very popular nowdays and are restricted by race, and one of the reasons why i think Blizzard did it like this, is because they know that there people who likes keep some grade of singularity in the races, and of course in the game it self.
I don’t see it like this. In any case is an attempt to keep a balance between people who wants to mog in any kind of form, and people who want to see an environment more accurate to the WoW universe themes.
We already have a good balance among those styles of moging. As you said, you can dress as an orc if your toon is an elf, and vice versa. And you also can stick to the theme of every race and class, if you want. The moging as it is right now, is very democratic, IMHO.

Let me transmog into my Rhinestone Sunglasses so I can kill bosses with style.

I completely agree! Cosmetic transmog items shouldn’t be restricted to be used only a few days out of the year.
I haven’t bothered to obtain any of the holiday transmog items (aside from the ones that were accidental, like Winterviel hats from bosses) for the sole reason that I can’t use it when ever I want, so instead, I spend my time farming up transmog items that I can use when ever I want.
We can hide our chest armor? :o
Give them an inch and they take a mile.
No one said we needed to lift all restrictions. We need some for consistancy.
I am going to remove this guys chest piece once the restriction is removed. And only two restriction I can think of are:
-
Remove Holiday restriction (no point getting that crap if it only lasts a week or two)
-
Make it so shoulders can be single shoulder and be able to pick which side.
Fair enough.
If we had a huge number of restrictions in place like before then I’d get it more but we do not.
And the material things, yeah I don’t think they’d ever lift that one, so I can see that remaining as well. (Granted I never thought they’d let us get rid of chest either)

I hope they loosen some of the weapon restrictions, I would love fist weapons on my frost dk.
I do hope they eventually loosen artifact restrictions myself.
While I am going to be a sparkly streaking elf once in a while, I wish they would lift restrictions on transmogging white armor. I would love to just be able to transmog my old starter gear, or some of the vendor armor, or things like my black ember dress.
If people can go around topless then why not let us transmog into other things as long as they’re in our armor class.

I’m so excited, I have made transmogs that work, but it’s really hard to get gloves that work with some of my dresses. I will show you, lol
Same. One of the best-looking sets for Pandaren warriors is a white set they get while on Shen-Zin Su. Before scaling, I wore that gear until my warrior was level 34 (then scaling was implemented and she was forced to put on real armor, instead).
I wore my starter gear til level 15 because I thought soulbound meant I would have to keep it on forever, and I would be stuck so I kept waiting til I found something I liked before I equipped it, I was buying white gear because it wasn’t soulbound. I was such a noob lol. I also didn’t know about the auctionhouse til then, and I kept getting lost in the trade district in stormwind.
My armory is updated on my phone but not showing as updated on my pc, I changed to the robes of insight and the outfit i put together long ago for it, lol I noticed Blizzard copied the look with the belt. I would love to be able to just use the bracers and no gloves make it very pretty.

In light of the hide anything change the blues are referring to, I hope that includes weapons. I hate dw for frost dk, miss my 2h weapons desperately, but hiding an offhand weapon (and allowing all 1h weapons to sheathe on the back - the sheathing on the back is VERY important) would be a step in the right direction.
Huh… I didn’t even think of “hide weapons” myself…
Would love to mog the rose behind the ear Forever-Lovely Rose on my female characters.
I’d also like to be able to use the old character head models so I actually recognize my characters I played for a decade instead of these amateur caricatures they gave me, especially my Tauren that look like they belong in an episode of Cow and Chicken…
But the rose would be nice.
Yeah, forever lovely rose should definitely be included in the “moggable year-round”…
