Hrm…Ion has talked about this several times and made it pretty clear the Ilvl jump is about the progression between difficulties within the tier, not the “soft float” Ilvl line cause by tforge. Maybe he is wrong/lying/inexact in what he ways every time he has adressed this issue directly.

Maybe your right on that. But the removal of tforge is not something I see happening so what would you suggest? And for that matter if tforge is what is driving this need for “huge otherwise uneeded” jumps then we have to be seeing a very large portion of the players base being way outside the baseline levels at all levels to account for that. I’d love see any graphs or data sets you have to show that. Tforge cause’s ilvl’s across the board to be higher. it does not cause 30-35 ilvls across the board. They want new tiers to be seperate from the old tiers in ilvl and have said so. Tforge may push that by some ilvls but is not the cause.

The addition of currency rewards to all world quests is not what I would expect. I would expect, if they were to do such a thing, that they would be their own world quests or a “surprise yay it happened” drop from equipment quests or something like Titan Residuum.

So yeah, that would bring you back around to “oh gods no…not more forced content” y’all already mewl enough about being “forced” to grind ap for very minor amounts rather than simply waiting for the AK system to make such work trivial. Gotta get it now…so you do silly amounts of work to do that. Grats…but you chose to do that and are not forced in any way (perhaps by guild/raid leaders but that is not the game, it i the “community”) to do so. I do think that no AP from raids is…a questionable decision. But…even if they put AP in raids then raiders would mewl about “with no cap I’m still forced to grind other content” so…what would be the solution then? Put in a cap so that raiders are not “forced” to voluntarily pursue small decimals of progression what then for the players, and it’s a big group, that don’t raid? “Sod off sad boy, this is a raiders only zone and if your not happy go play something else”? This problem is recursive to itself. No matter how you slice it unless the raid progression is entirely seperate from the rest of the game this mewling will occur and heaven forfend that somehow the “raiderz who are whut matterz really lolz” should decide that non raid progression has something they want in that scenario because…oh yeah recursive to the mewling.

I’m not against a currency system in principle, but we should be careful what we ask for. Any currency system will need to serve the same goals the current one does and I’m not sure anyone will be any happier with one that does. As a general rule, and I’m sure there are many successful counter examples, a randomized system with “jackpot” rewards when transformed into a deterministic system becomes cumbersome, boring, and/or daunting to many/most people.
