Hello forum friends. Hope your day is going well and your drops are plentiful.
I have a small request. A sort of impromtu community event, if it’s not too much trouble? Could you set aside a couple of minutes today at some point to go out and do a wild pet battle? Just one. Whether you’re a an enthusiastic pet collector, a lapsed one or have never really paid it much attention, could you join me in participating in this one little flash mob activity?
No? Really? It’s such a small request.
It’s not part of any great nefarious plan.
A few people on the forums are not going to skew the metrics enough to change Blizzard’s mind.
I just feel a little down about losing pet battles (if the the story circulating is true) and it would cheer me up to have a little support from the community.
(but if “no” is your answer, so be it. Be well wherever your road leads you today)
Well considering the fact that K’aresh has zero wild battle pets (when every other patch zone has added them), it isn’t looking good for battle pet collectors. I wonder if blizz will do to them what they did to arch.
I am glad it is going away, there are a billion pokemon games out there, it doesn’t need to be in wow.
This is the only good thing about midnight so far.
The Celestial Tournament felt like the “hardest” thing I’ve ever done in WoW. I went in the moment it went live and strategy guilds didn’t exist at the time, so I was relying on just my accumulated familiarity with my collection. In those days, I knew each and every one of my level 25 pets personally and could pull pretty good strategies out of my head (I can’t remember if I actually beat it in my first try or ran out of pets and had to start over once or twice, but it made a great “grand finale” to the MoP journey)
The first dungeon was fun but as they went on, I found my collection grew to the point where I couldn’t remember my pets and their abilities clearly off the top of my head and slowly the fights started demanded more and more unforgiving combos of moves to beat. It didn’t feel fun any more to puzzle it out and I knew there were guides coming out quicker and quicker, so I started just following recipes.
But I still loved the brief spurt in new zones of going around finding all the wild pets to capture - that was always my favourite part of pet battles anyway, not the “challenges”.
I’m still missing the rare fight from Stratholme pet dungeon- either I’ve had bad luck or have been looking for the rare trigger in the wrong places all along. I rarely go back to check, in part because I’m dreading finally getting it to pop and then finding myself unable to beat it.
Anyway, I’ll probably have a few more nostalgic tales before it’s over.
I collect pets, I dont fight with them. Actually I find the activity boring. I get enough pet charms from mission boards, sitting on over 20k and every pet is max level via bought epic stones.
Unfortunately I find wow pet battles to be absolutely mind numbingly boring. I wish they would revamp it completely or maybe just leave it as a cosmetic collection like it seems they are doing.
