SLs doesnt actually seem bad

It’s really not. It’d be fine if it was a simple random sample but that’s not what’s going on. The more hardcore players, and especially players who want to “prove a point”, self-select themselves to participate at substantially higher rates. I flat out reject anything short of an in-game poll conducted by Blizzard TBH. Anything from Sloot or Preach is already tainted by massive selection bias.

So just your opinion, got it.

I’m very confident that it will be a fun expansion, at least more fun than BFA. I don’t like some of the system mechanics, but Blizzard has listened to feedback and it seems very likely that they’ve crafted a fun overall product. Even if I end of getting annoyed by my abilitiy choices.

If each patch is grinding months of crap to “update my leggos” like we had to farm azerite power to use the same traits, then yeah the system blows.

I certainly having seen anything to suggest that tens of thousands of casual guilds are rallying and voicing their concerns. WoW is a game with millions of players. If the majority were vocal and angry their voice would be booming.

Instead, even the vocal haters have largely had their voices drown out. Every content creator who isn’t personally invested in the fight has called the topic “divisive” at best. Of the people who are vocal, who are a minority, even the haters aren’t the majority.

I would be extremely surprised if there wasn’t some kind of currency grind to upgrade legendaries.

You can look up the web traffic on sites like IcyVeins or Bloodmallet and see they get millions of visits a week when new content drops. I think that shows people care about what is good for their character. If you look at what stats are good or what talents you should pick, you are probably going to look up what covenant is best for you.

Even if people don’t care and just pick whatever a 3rd party site tells them to pick, it really destroys the idea of a “meaningful choice” and begs the question why it’s even there in the first place.

I suppose it will all depend on how long it takes to “update” our leggos when a new tier drops.

For sure there will be a currency grind, but if we can upgrade 1 per week its probably fine, 1 per month Shadowlands looking real grim.

BFA was the same way. It wasn’t half bad if you only played one character. SL is supposed to ship with a lot of catch-ups.

I’d say it looks like a mixed bag.

Pros:
Torghast might be cool, if it doesn’t become a chore
The story sounds interesting

Cons:
Covenants - become a huge hybrid tax, not really any aesthetics I like.
Maw - sounds about as miserable as visions
Legendaries - depending on what crafting is needed could be a pain.
Holy power returns for all pallys :frowning:

Maybe it’s not so mixed after all…

Because like I said they already get enough publicity as it is. It’s their job to promote their channels not mine lol. not to mention the fact that I don’t know which one of them might be complete buttheads that I don’t want to be promoting anyways. The only one that I actually trust beyond any reasonable doubt is hazelnutty
