Slow Flying In DF

Earlier depending on the expac. Some were six months, some nine. This one is almost a year in.

Last week on DBZ: “Kaaaaaaa…!”
This week on DBZ: “…aaammmmeeee…!”
Next week on DBZ: “…eeeeehhhaaa…!”

Which one was 6? As far as I can tell they were ~9+ months in. You also have to take into account the time after pathfinder became available and the timegating you had to go through to unlock it. So I don’t think you got flying until nearly a year, if not longer into the xpac.
Wod was the only exception, but they rushed that xpac so fast, we were on patch .2 7 months after launch lol.

This xpac though, we had flying day 1. Sure, it’s not the flying some wanted, but it was flying regardless. Which is why I don’t understand that argument.

What really hurts me about dbz… the creator didn’t want it to be like that. The studio stretched it out :sob:
At least nothing will ever be as bad as shippuden filler.

I’m the opposite. Would rather see dragon flying given to old winged mounts and make it the norm. But that’s me.

Six was in Legion. And you are comparing us just getting pathfinder this time to the time it takes to earn it which will still be off because this one would have been over a year by then.

Tbh I was comparing all of them, but if we go back to my original question, it still doesnt make sense pathfinder or not.

You miss out on the way the open world looks with Dragon riding, at least with the old mounts you can hover and admire. They put all the work into the game only to have it zoomed passed at great speeds, is kind of stupid and pointless to me. I wish they would have just added normal flying in sooner. I dislike dragon riding a lot. Since i did work to get a ton of my mounts that can fly in old zones but not here? At least until now.

Mmm… Such a submissive Omega, so nice and pliable.
Stand up for your choices.

I like old school flying for mining and herbing.

I don’t like having to whip U turns because I fly by at 800 mph and see an herb lol

Yes, pathfinder doesn’t make sense at this point. It should be a toggle for DR or regular flying. Glad they did away with the renown requirement at least. One being gotten once you reach the Ruby Life Pools and the other having to wait and then earn through rep doesn’t make sense. They are both modes of transportation. One is slower.

Let the chill ones have slow flight and others can race.

OK. Maybe not objectively superior. But still superior. Aerial halt is a poor mans old air swimming. It just can’t compete. I’ll grant you mounted node farming is definitely nice. But DR just cannot compete with the accuracy of old air swimming plus no worries over vigor. And yes, you do run out of vigor no matter how good you are at it.

BTW, I can see from your achievements that you aren’t a very skilled dragon rider. You have none of the completionist meta achieves or the advanced courses completed in gold. So I wouldn’t open your mouth about “skill issue” if I were you.

Ariel halt isnt air swimming at all. It provides you the means to recover vigor and land precisely on a node…the 2 things you apparently cant do without old flying. So actually, no you dont run out of vigor if you’re good at it.

Lol, I dont care to win races so I dont do them beyond a random wq here and there. What I do care about is gathering and I can do so indefinitely without ever running out of vigor.

Except you do no matter how good you are at it. Especially when nodes can be tricky to find when behind terrain or obscured by trees or rocks etc. You’re still wrong about this.

The achieves prove you are good at dragon riding. Otherwise all we have is your claim without proof. No proof? Most people tend to not believe other peoples claims without proof. Shocker, I know. :person_shrugging:

Once “slow” flying comes out, I’m almost never touching Dragonriding again unless it’s something like a dragonrace WQ (…which requires it) or standard flight is somehow disabled (…such as inside an instanced raid/LFR)

I will give you this one. First reason ive seen that could potentially be useful to everyone

I’m sorry that you’re unable to gather without running out of vigor. But I can and do regularly. Luckily for you, you’ll be getting old flying back so you don’t have to worry about it. Meanwhile I’ll continue to DR and not ever worry about running out of vigor. Also we’re getting another ability to instantly recharge 1 vigor at will, so it’ll be even easier to gather indefinitely for those that have issue with it now

And I’m sorry you feel the need to blow hot air without backing up your claims. I’ll continue to state that you are wrong and that no matter how good you are, you will eventually run out of vigor and that for solid farming sessions, nothing beats old air swimming. For everything else, yes DR is better.

Ariel halt gives 1 vigor, the gathering talent gives a second…that enough to get in the air and into thrill of the skies and onto the next node…where are you losing vigor from repeating this cycle?

Normal fliers are going to be demanding speed buffs before long because OMG NOT FAYR
