There’s more to it. I worked with X-Legend in TW. Then went Fujitsu LTD (then Fujitsu Australia). Then NEC then I stopped working with East Asian companies because work was too hard for me (good pay but long hours and a mountain of work each day)
But one think I did notice is that the community in a game like Dream Journey online players were genuinely more chill ingame compared to the western counterparts in the US published Grand Fantasia. Yes it’s true signing up to the CN published game did require your real CN/HK/TW ID but you can use a fake. I think the real reason people are so nice ingame is that they have more crap IRL. I certainly felt that way during my time working there. I was so burnt out irl it was in my best interest being nice.
