SL Covenant Choice for Resto

Blatant or not, there have been many times when Preach has given out misinformation in his videos.

Unintentional? Probably.

The guy churns out so much content spread out over so many classes that he frequently contradicts what other top end raiders WHO ACTUALLY SPECIALIZE in those specs say.

I don’t think this misinformation is nearly as widespread as you think it is, especially during alpha/beta with so many changes going on but you are correct: experienced TCs for a single/set of specs will blow any content creator out of the water, most if not all of the time.

Necrolord for me still unless something big changes, I wont be changing covs at all. Ill just need to be on the top of my game interrupting and doing dmg normally in m+.

Mostly because I like how Pwave interacts with riptide and the toolkit and Ill deff be using Echoes of the elements already. Throw in the Stream totem conduit thing for stronger HW,HW and riptides ( ill get 2x stream totems to play with that conduit’s effect too ) and Im already confident we will be okay to do any raid progg and m+ up to 15+/max rewards once a week. Ill be raiding more than anything I assume so this fits for what I will be doing too. The shield will offset some squish in m+ when I do that. Pwave is usable when moving due to it being instant so that is nice.

It still seems like the Venthir are gonna be a m+ heavy one for people who will be doing more of that, kinda pointless in raids if you cant get the chain harvest off and the boss has no adds. Seems like you wont be able to get the most out of it unless every boss is designed with adds+dmg that line up with the cd.

Kyrian/Fae seem like an in between of m+ and raiding so logically they should tail behind PWave HPS wise in raids because Necro doesnt get any dmg bonus.
Im personally not a fan of the Vulpin form at all when we have ghost wolf already and dont feel like we need more movement stuff. I dont like the 3 sec channeled ability either, but it seems like Fae will be good in m+ like the Venthir stuff ( movement + burst ). The Fae ability says it heals people near you so you kinda need to be channeling it and hope no one moves for 3 sec. ( in m+…iunno some weeks you just need to keep moving, in a raid you can plan it better I suppose but youll need adds again and we kinda already do stacked/nearby healing really well )

Unless something big changes Im going Necrolords still. Ill prob look at everything the day before or the day or the actual expansion launch to be sure.

Also all of the abilities/soulbinds/covs are gonna be balanced constantly so you are best looking at what the descriptions are, how they work with the class, and where they would be best to use ( ie raid/m+/pvp ).
( like I mentioned chain harvest in raid bosses with no adds or where the add phases dont line up is kinda a bunk ability unless every boss constantly has adds in SL, if you cant channel the fae ability or people move away from you or not nuff adds again, bunk. If you suck at setting up riptide Pwave combos, bunk. If you dont make use of the Kyrian totem’s dps side you should have went Necro maybe…whatever, it’s kinda all logic at this point tbh )

Id wait to look at/argue the HPS of stuff. Esp since the expansion was delayed. Weigh the ups and downs. /shrug

From what preach said in his video, it doesn’t seem like he did much research into the shaman abilities. For instance he never mentioned echoing shock for chain harvest making it a better choice.

I really like Preach, but it was very clear after watching this that he has spent very little time playing his shaman in the beta.
