skip the apex talents and use those points to take all of the bottom of the enhancement tree and you pretty much always have a big dps cooldown up with sundering / surging totem or ascendance.
now weather it’s better or not I don’t know, but it is way more fun.
I’m sure blizz has tier sets cooked up to make the apex not feel so clunky and unsatisfying but we’re not there yet so this might be the way I go.
Edit: and you get the doggo’s back way more often.
