The one button thing is both weird and a nothing burger. I don’t think it will change much at all either way. I really feel like putting coaches of some sort on the dummies makes way more sense. Then you can go to the dummy and learn at least a basic rotation, and maybe have an actual pvp dummy that will fight back a bit.
I feel like the draenor for all it’s flaws had it closer but needed some coaching thrown in. A pvp proving ground with some decent ai opponents would be great.
This just feels like something nobody is really going to use after trying it for a bit.

I’ll have to think twice about focusing Snowcrest - he might actually be able to do damage now.

I’m an older guy with limited key binds and for at least a few specs, It’s been really fun for me. I think where it shines is DH, WW, and Rogues. I love how it plays DH. Not gonna lie. You literally just have to worry about defensives and your cc. Super fun and takes a lot of the button clutter away. It’s not perfect but it makes it so I’m actually using all of my abilities. Also, one thing a lot of people are sleeping on is how it casts aoe abilities that normally require two clicks to cast. Abilities like Sigil of Flame are automatically placed under your enemy in one click. It’s crazy seamless. Blizzard really did a great job with the macro.
It needs a little adjusting though. Like for example Ret Pally. Nobody uses Divine Storm in pvp. I also do not like the hunter rotation. it makes MM hunter cast volley in all situations. Feels clunky atm.

I just tried the one-button option, and it’s fantastic! I can see how much it will benefit new players. That said, I don’t think seasoned players aiming for optimal performance in raids or rated PvP would use it.
So basically it gives a significant performance boost to new players, but experienced players relying on it would see an obvious DPS loss, especially in rated battlegrounds.

The only way I could see this being mildly useful to a “pvper” is if they’re just messing around in epic battlegrounds and not doing anything else.

I could see this being used for a brand new players. If I had a friend who never played WoW, I can give him the keyboard and be like here try this. Without having to explain everything and warn him that this is not ideal, but atleast you don’t start at 100 dps.
There’s a lot of information in-game and it’s not obvious, but I could throw a complete noob and tell them follow this group, and press this button on the red bars.

Personally I think that they should’ve never implemented the fully automatic rotation gcd penalty or not.
And should’ve instead implemented the rotation helper the one that highlights ideally what you push next instead.
That way it becomes more fluid to play naturally instead of just spamming 1 button which ultimately you learn legit nothing doing that so.

It’s basically like the one button cast sequence macros some of us used in Wrath. It’s kinda okay in pvp at the basic level.
But it’s not going to take care of things such as interrupts, use of defensives, swaps, etc.
This feature is aimed at exactly the audience Blizz wanted to pertain to. Which, as usual, took them far too long to realize.

No idea who Supatease is, I assume he’s some manner of streamer (yes, yes get your Boomer jokes out, idc). That still doesn’t really mean anything. One button only deals with an offensive rotation. It doesn’t pop defensives, interrupts, stuns, or burst.
In other words, Supatease was winning 2300 MMR lobbies because he still knows how to play. The fact that he was using the one button option didn’t really factor into it. It’s just confirmation bias making people believe it did.

I just tested this on the dummy as UDK and it was a near 40% dps loss, it doesn’t even drop defile, lmao

In fact it makes it harder. I haven’t watched a ton of his streams on this, just a few games on his ret, but the whole time he was complaining about how bad the one button was.
“Why is this thing spamming divine storm when no player is even in range”
“OMG this rotation is horrible who made this”
Is what I was hearing him say for the bit I watched. It’s a challenge he is doing for stream, for content, he is winning in spite of the one button not because of it.

Is this assuming i meant someone is going to get glad with it (they wont)? I mean overall it will help alot of players. Dont have to pay attention to dmg and can focus more attention to positioning cc and defensives. Its a downgrade if you know what you are doing no question. But to say this isnt going to help anyone is kinda funny.

I mean, at this point I have my standard rotation so locked into my muscle memory that I don’t really have to pay attention when I’m just doing basic sustained damage. The only things that really require my full attention are CC, burst, and defensives.
I don’t really see the problem here. Just a massive general overreaction.

I think the problem everyones having is they are comparing themselves by looking at it. Yea i can have a blank screen and still not hav issues dpsing but i dont expect a guy who is trying their hardest to get 1600 to be able to. No matter how free we think it all is there are alot of players that cant get there. Just gotta put yourself into their shoes.

It is a nice welcome for new players or players who have some difficulty playing. I dont know why there is an outrage on this but the one shot sequence macro for frost mages and sub rogues have been out for while without this level of outrage

Look at my ratings, I’m not some god tier PvPer. I’d say I’m pretty good, but I’m never gonna be amazing at it. I’m just a sicko that’s been absurdly dedicated to WW monk since MoP so I can play this class in my sleep.
One button assist isn’t going to make someone who struggles to get to 1600 suddenly start playing at an 1800 level. It doesn’t reduce my ability to enjoy the game and it might improve the experience for someone else. I don’t see the issue.
It wouldn’t be WoW if people weren’t catastrophizing something.

My guild did a normal clear of LoU last night just using single-button…for science.
Consensus was that we all hated it.
Its boring AF and funny enough you’re finger starts cramping after a while. DPS was good, not great.
I completely agree with this. Its a good starting point for new people while they get used to the mechanics of the game and for folks with disabilities, etc. it provides accessibility, which is great.

Thats why you put the one button on multiple buttons so you can change buttons when pressing one button. Button.
