Gold sinks aren’t effective. They only hurts the casuals in the game or people who aren’t great at making gold per hour.
Meanwhile gold buyers, botters, and mage boosters are largely unaffected by them. Ultimately gold sinks serve no meaningful purpose. What the game needs is a hard gold cap per account. Something like 2-5k gold.

Why do you think this is different from hair color? It has no gameplay impact whatsoever.
I’m fine with the barbershop in TBC but it should work exactly the same way as in Retail. Change any appearance within the character’s race.

Yikes, you’re literally trolling. Any cap, especially that low, would be awful for all players. How do you think that would be healthy at all for the game to just cap everyone because some people can’t make gold.
I think the barbershop would be a great idea, but in our garrisons.
That does not change things either. A cap just means more accounts to hold the gold. When WoW had a gold cap, players got around the cap by filling up accounts. Some guilds even had accounts that were funded by the guild for the sole purpose of being gold banks.

But I really was hoping we would get dual spec.
I was also hoping the new mount that was datamined would be a goldsink like the spider or brutosaur from retail. I love that idea. Just something to get rid of the ridiculous amounts of gold people have.
So your solution is to handicap everyone who legitimately farmed a decent amount of gold by deleting it from their inventory. Nice!
