i don’t think i’ve ever seen another player suggest that this would be an actual problem, though. so that’s why i’m just labeling it a wive’s tale at this point. i doubt anyone’s felt this way for 15 + years.

Pre-transmog, this was the main argument against it on the forums. If you listen to archived WoW podcasts from the time transmog was first announced, they address it as well.
