isnt the new spec like a bard? you buff allies with abilities i don’t see why we need another bard, at least for now

Why not just replace a trash rogue spec with it. Give them something that isn’t DPS. That way you don’t need a whole trash class just one spec.
The last time I checked the profession revamp didn’t give us a Gnomish Iron Man suit, so that fantasy is most definitely NOT satisfied yet.

As someone with (what most people consider to be incredible) musical/instrumental aptitude… no. Bards are just lame. “Let me sit back and play my lute and sing” while real hero’s are getting beat up.
This should only be a thing if the Bard actually has to sing and their “spells” are thereby voice-activated through their mic. Admittedly this would also require a new reason to be able to kick people from groups.
Its not gatekeeped. That would imply only a few could play it.

Maybe, but they’ve been setting it up for quite a while now.
I was joking about the Guitar Hero thing, but I think Bards could work if they styled them like they were in the Bard’s Tale.
Neither was Evoker, yet here we are.

I would love a bard class in WOW. Also remember lore is what Blizzard says it is. They can change it on a whim … Like they are doing with the class/race restrictions. If there is money to be made on it ,they will look into it I am sure.
Not only is Dracthyr getting a support spec their legendary itself is a support item as besides good stats it’s ability benefits only the dracthyr’s team, it gives no bonuses to the dracthyr themselves and opens up the chance people will see them using it and demand they play a certain way or only use their charging abilities when told to…which is wrong if it does happen. I’ve quietly given up the desire for the legendary glove now as…what’s the point besides to make me a slave to my teammates?
Nothing about the addition of Augmentation opens the way to adding bards. Honestly, it’s amusing seeing this spec’s existence rile up bard supporters by taking away the one thing it would’ve done differently from every other class.
There aren’t any strong arguments for them. Here’s the thing about the existing classes: you can feasibly work a huge cavalry or small contingent of them into the Alliance and Horde’s militaries and they all have at least one major character to represent them and lay some of the groundwork for them. Meanwhile, bards have no real place in a combat setting and there are no major bard heroes. They probably wouldn’t even have any cool class-specific mounts unless the design team was to throw gravitas to the wind and give them the ability to ride a lute or guitar like a hoverboard.
Both the classical depiction of a bard and the death metal artists at the Darkmoon Faire are more at home at that place than in the Alliance or Horde. Plus, with the complaints about the Horde’s image being emasculated from the additions of certain races and the faction’s leadership becoming increasingly Alliance-like, I don’t think giving it the former archetype would sit well for some people.

Obviously a class has the room to be fleshed out more. But the general basic fantasy is there.

I would like an option that is… not limited to one race? That’s it, not limited to one race.
Augmentation will do for now… whenever I decide to finally pick up my Dracthyr.
If garrisons taught me anything it’s that wows idea of what the player base wants is nothing like what the actual player base wants…
A Bard class already exists. It’s called a Dwarf. 
All I can think about is how badly I want one ability to be “slap” and one ability to be “hit with lute”
I want to remind you that Monk exists. Literally the most weeb class.
