Since Blizzard has ignored the majority on RP PVP

Name reservations, strawpolls, historic precedents set by Blizzard.

But that’s off topic, the topic is that we are building something beautiful here and you’re invited to be a part of it.

Historic precedents? Emerald Dream is and was one of the most evenly populated PvP servers in the game. And it’s an RP-PvP server. So good in fact that regular PvPers came over for the faction balance. Unfortunately it cut out the RP a bit, but precedent says we’ll have a nicely balanced RP-PvP server.

You can’t call people out then claim they’re detracting when they discuss the fact that they’re being called out.

The only reason I called out the warlock is because he wasn’t discussing that fact, he was writing paragraphs upon paragraphs about the issue his own thread was already discussing and arguing with everyone else.

But you have a nice day hun, try to be less salty in the future.

I hope that Grob is medium pop like others have suggested, but can you explain why someone wouldn’t sub early to reserve their name? It equates to a difference of 7 dollars. So if you played for 3 months, or 6 months, or 1 year and didn’t sub early to reserve names you would have saved 7 dollars.

The precedent was servers for RPPVP centrally located.

@Truth Gentleman, let the record show that this individual got the last word. He needs it.

Retail tourists aren’t reserving names on Grob. Grob is going to be great if you are an RP-PvPer. I know so many returning players/guilds.

Any RP-PvPer not rolling on Grob is going to miss out on an incredible community. Having a token guild on Herod without other RP-PvP guilds to interact/fight with is a waste of time.

Good luck, OP, but I don’t imagine any takers.

You underestimate the demand. There won’t be just one token Guild, there will be many.

There is tons of evidence to support the fact that the EsT RPPVP community is larger than the PST RPPVP community.

Time zone doesn’t necessarily equate to where the server is located.

I don’t discount that there are more EST players than PST players, but a time zone isn’t something worth fracturing the RP-PvP community over. It would really suck playing on a non-RP dominated server with less RP rules.

Not a single RP guild that I know of is wavering on the realm selection and I doubt you would get any bites (and if you did, they will lose big time).

RP ing on a non official RP server has always been acceptable?

Why the heck would anyone join herod and endure the hour+ queue times that will inevitably happen when layering is turned off?

Because apparently it’s worth not participating on Grob with dozens of RP-PvP guilds when on Herod, they don’t have to subtract 3 hours to calculate when their raid starts rofl.

Grobbulus: 212ms (9000 miles away)
Herod: 254ms (10,000 miles away)

I’m curious why it’s +100ms for you guys, when it’s only +42ms for me?

Also…

P.S.
It’s already hard enough to have a decent RP community on a regular rp and rp-pvp server…

next to impossible on a pvp server.

There wasn’t an hour long queue time when their was incentive for everyone to login for character creation, simultaneously. It is utter logical fallacy to suggest there will be when people are petering in on logins, throughout the day.

Lol… they don’t have server queues turned on dude…

at most they will have a 5-10k server cap when when layering is turned off.

the queues are going to be ridiculous.

No one said it did.

This is the real point of his post. When they announced that Grobbulous was going to be located in the LA data center instead of the traditional, centralized Chicago data center, not a single PST player spoke out in favor of something that was better for most players. They were concerned with themselves. They would rather have it in there backyard then meet us as close to possible in the middle. They aren’t concerned with the community, first and foremost, they are concerned with themselves.

Blizzard has never made any show of force in enforcing RP rulesets on an RP PVP server. Never.

Anecdotal and fear-mongering. Guild rise and fall. New guilds will be formed. Old guilds will disband or be a revolving door. The community will abide.

There were queues at character creation, they just weren’t long, not even with 12,000 people waiting to get in. If you’re that worried about it, install Teamviewer on your PC and your phone and queue up on your way home from work or to your computer and make some snacks. It will be a non-factor.

Can we RP as streamers and their fans?

Anecdotal. I have seen Blizzard enforce the naming rule set quite often.
