When it comes to their armies, the Devouring Host is filled with adorable blueberries that I just want to poke like the Pillsbury Doughboy to see if they make a cute noise.
Sylvanas’s armies are all pointy and probably smelly.

As a Villain I’m enjoying Xal’s arc more because she’s at least had set backs. Also her smugness is somewhat endearing
that being said I did think Azshara eclipsed them both

Azshara was better but they rushed through her story so insanely fast. Nazjatar is insane with consideration to how long she’d been built up as a threat, all the way back to like 2003 lmao.

Agreed. We still don’t know what Azshara’s end game is and I have a sneaking suspicion we’re going to see her again in Last Titan

Well we know what sylvanas looks like and did prior to becoming the banshee queen. We don’t know what xalatath actually looks like. she could look like the thing or jabba the hut in her natural form for all we know.. this form she’s in is borrowed… soo… there’s that

Sylvanas is easily the best out of the two. Her story is a tragic one and I loved her since WC 3.
Plus her current voice actress, Patty Mattison is just awesome. She has such a lovely voice

Xal is cool and all but Sylvanas is just a legendary character, and one that means something to a lot of people, as evidenced by how many fans she still has after the villainbat and the absolutely atrocious BFA-SL writing. There’s a reason why Blizzard ultimately felt compelled to provide a loyalist route (which clearly was a late addition in BFA) despite having gone out of their way to show us how Truly Despicable she was. You just can’t convince people that they’re wrong to like what they like.
That’s also why she was always coming back btw. I have no idea why some people are surprised by her return in Midnight.

Yep, and nearly kept me from returning to WoW.
For me Sylvanus was a a lot of things, I didn’t “simp” for her specifically just recognized pain and trauma before I had the language to really label it. I’ll always remember her as she was to me not, which in many ways that BFA trailer exemplified, rather than as she was made to be because some devs were having a spat.

Yes !!! That’s also what she stands for. Trauma, assault, the drive and instinct to regroup with other broken souls to face a hostile world, and being a survivor in general. If we’re being honest, the fact that she resonates with quite a lot of people because of these aspects makes what they did to her all the more unforgivable. Yes she was always very shady, but she was NOT the right character for a villainbat.

I wish they hadn’t wrecked Sylvanas so much, but she still has more going for her than Xal. They need to develop Xal a bit more.

I’m a Banshee Loyalist, so I’ll just mark my tally on the board and move on.
Before I do though, giving Xal’atath a chance to work with the player during Karesh probably helped her gain more attention and fans. But I’ll admit, her pull is that she dotes on her minions until they fail her in some way, then walks out condemning everything as your fault like an abusive ex.
