Sick of all the toxic people on wow

also

by “ability”

I don’t think they meant ability in-game.

Clearly not much given how much bigoted crap I see in chat, lol.

Given that MoST of the playerbase is adults…you’d THINK theyd behave AS adults and not have to be told to play nice, lol.
My bad for thinking that, I suppose.

An adult should also be expected to deal with opposing opinions without devolving into screaming and plugging your ears. Are you sure you can throw that stone?

It’s just really not worth getting into. I don’t even assume most people I talk to in game are adults to be honest

((Wow my phones text to speech sucks))

Homie’s gonna have half of GD ignored by the end of day

oh dont get me started on that…lol
Youd think I had a stroke given how badly google handles speech to text, lol

Initially when I started wow the behavior was getting pretty bad.
I assumed it was 14 year old boys, so I just didnt let it bother me.
Then someone in here who has been around since the beginning of WoW told me that its mostly adults…18 and over…who are behaving like that, lol.

Id love to do a poll of all the ill mannered sorts in game and on the forum and see just how many of them are actually legal adults.
Im betting well over 90%, personally.

I swear covid deleted the tiny tiny little vestige that people originally had to actually be able to drive. It was always a very lacking skill…not it is completely gone.

I would not necessarily say age has much to do with it. Its rare (cus im a old man) but thier have been times where I encountered people that were so socially bad it had the magnitude of a black hole.

So you might actually be on to something with that and it actually ties into people acting more toxic.
Its been called “post covid driving” And it’s a phenomenon that’s been noticed to affect general behavior. While i dont think theirs been wide reserch into it, you can probably look up stasticts on it past the year 2020

omg…when everyone was on lockdown I had to take the wife to her job…hers was ‘essential’ lol.
So we have this four lane freeway all to ourselves coming home one evening.
I looked in the rear view and some car had come out of nowhere and blew past us so fast and so close I could feel my car being pulled into his backdraft, lmao.

For the record, I was driving 75mph…so this guy had to be well over 100, likely upwards of 125 given how fast he blew past us.

I think covid rotted his brain lmao

Are age and / or marital status correlated with “ability to tolerate toxicity”?

I dunno

If you are a grown man you should be able to tolerate toxicity (I would hope). And you are right martial status has nothing to do with it. Based on how this guy interacts and socializes makes me think he’s man-child.

I do believe their bar for “what constitutes ignore-worthy behavior” is the lowest I’ve ever seen

Sadly, true.
We cant count on age equally maturity.
My ex wife was older than I am…my current wife of 20 years is much younger.
Shes younger and FAR more mature and responsible than the ex was…is.
Ive given up on age being a factor in behavior at this point.

Kids I’ll put up with. Theyre kids.
When its kinda obvious it an adult, they get removed from my presence if they cant behave like an adult. In here and in game that equals being ignored.

The rational adult mind sees that social contract and likely doesnt have much to improve upon. Most folks like following the rules and behaving like civil human beings.
Others seem like they took the social contract as a challenge to see just how far they could push the lines without being actioned, lol

You are not the main character dude.

Many such cases. I find that the average super casual (people that only interact with others via dungeon finder or raid finder and just fly around org or sw all day or something) often end up being the worst demographic of this game. I can go pretty much all day in m+ without a peep but in queued content despite being incredibly easy it’s very common for a drama show.

Well, generally speaking, the more difficult the content, the faster the pace, and the sweatier and in the zone the competitive player is.

Know what you don’t have time to do when you’re smashing buttons on your keyboard to min/max?

Talk trash

during covid my driver’s test was to

  1. use the things in my car (turn signal, wipers, headlights)
  2. go forward
  3. turn right
  4. turn right
  5. parallel park
  6. normal park

it was 5 minutes and the tester wasnt allowed in our cars
that might explain it a bit but older people still tend to be the menaces ime

Sounds like maybe 1 or 2 people made a comment and you’re doom posting now. If you’re really getting blamed that often you’re the common denominator. Do less challenging content to get better before stepping up if it’s a problem.
