As many times as theyve nailed me on bogus ‘trolling’ raps, I cant help but wonder how he hasnt been.
I’m a nervous commuter at best. Had I noticed the guy and gotten that “trapped between stops” adrenaline going it wouldn’t have ended well. Then again, who could say where that guy was headed…

Glad you made it safe and I understand!
After he got off I was like, “did you see what he was carrying”? People were like, “Uhhh yeah, long before you did.”
 Orctang:
Orctang:Not everyone has a raiding friendly schedule.
Didn’t say they did. But the person I was responding to makes it clear his limitations aren’t involving schedule, but his social skills with people. And as I mentioned to him specifically that is something he can correct. No one should do / be limited to something they dread either.
 Shadina:

Maybe but then again you can only speak for yourself.
That is crazy!
 Orctang:

I don’t think that’s true in this situation. Encouraging someone to take steps toward achieving something other than what they dread is a good thing, I think. No where am I forcing him. I simply said it’s all within his power to change if he wishes. There’s nothing wrong with that.
I agree encouragement is good.
Was supposed to be and lord over people with it but didn’t realize I left that bit out in which I’ll edit. I say this because I’ve seen many an incident of people treating others like garbage over gear/lack thereof while knowing they’re denying said players of means to access and obtain said gear. Nasty, rude and snobby players saying people were automatically bad for not having said gear and would never improve, ever and then getting upset when the game became more accessible seeing players like those they’d accost finally getting a means to progress thanks to QoL.
My opinion of players like that pally isn’t wavering because that player is known to do nothing but belittle other players, treat them like garbage and act like she’s better than players who just wanna enjoy the game and be able to do the content they pay the same sub for [yes this does entitle them to do so,as they paid to play a full game, this isn’t an EA title FFS.]. Baddies, scrubs and the like are demeaning terms that should be discouraged in being used,if people are really so gung-ho in wanting community, they should take the initiative and help the game thrive by reaching out to players struggling and offer to help,if these players accept cool beans then they’ll get better thanks to the means of an experienced player who knows what the Hell they’re doing. If they decline then at least wish them well on their endeavors/doors open if they change their minds and down the road it’ll be seen whether they found different means or are still in that same spot they last were. The game thrives more and is at its healthiest when you have players who can play happily and enjoy it in its entirety and when you lift players up rather than bring em down and keep em down, this means more to play with and as I’ve always said: The more the merrier as you have people doing raids, world quests, dungeons of every difficulty all while making a friend or two along the way.
It’s one of the plus’ I’ve seen playing classic so far as you do have some people willing to slow down and see if you wanna do stuff and hold rude players accountable for their bad behavior. On my gnome warrior the other day,ran into a priest who was after murloc fins as I and went “Hey buddy, you after these too? If so how about we group up for a bit.” The priest agreed,we added a couple more people questing in the area along the way and once done,we parted ways [I had work in the morning so wanted to log so as not to be up until the crack of dawn like I did back in college] Seeing this made me rekindle my want for compassion in the community rather than the needless blocking of content people have been doing lately and the need to hold rude players accountable,I’m not trying to come off as this crazy old mutt,I’m just frustrated and get super heated when I see someone act so cold and callous rather than be a team player and help em get better, especially since I grew up around a lot of good sportsmanship from my days in soccer, martial arts and the occasional fighting game tourney in my late Jr. High and early high school years [late 90’s/early 2000’s,I started playing WoW during my 2nd college semester]
So to answer a question of this thread, I feel no player should be left behind,9/10 they’re not no effort, they’re just stuck at a collective fork in the roadand may do well with a little guidance.
The game is not a therapeutic methodology to force people who are not like you to be more like you.
People are not all wired the same. Just because you are a social butterfly who imagines you have thousands of close personal friends who can drop everything 24/7 to do the content you want to do at the difficulty you choose to do it at does not mean more than a handful of those people are your actual friends. Nor does it mean that this is the right way to be wired, and other people who are loners should pay for years of therapy to be more like you.
Today I learned you need to be a social butterfly to set aside a few hours a week to raid.

Some people learn something new every day. Other people, like you, appear to play the game not for challenge or rewards, but to give you an excuse to pass judgment over people you have never met and don’t know.
It sounds like your life is miserable to need to live that way.
And the “everybody should want raiding badly enough to rearrange their entire life if necessary” ratiionale for your own life choices is lame.

I didn’t say it was. I said if he dreads something, he should change that and actually enjoy what he pays 15 bucks a month for and he can change it if he likes. That’s all I said.

I get that. I didn’t say they are.

I’d disagree here. You’re also assuming much about me when I never said anything along those lines. You know nothing of my guild, nor the people I associate with. Did you know my guild contains people who have been here for years, all of which know each other on a first name basis, and I do not recruit because I’m content with my 12-15 people? No you didn’t. If you did, you wouldn’t be making this nonsensical brick of information that does nothing for no one because it has nothing to do with the overall discussion.

I didn’t say any of that. I said if he dreads something, he can take steps to being able to enjoy the game and not be forced into doing what he dreads. You’re responding to a lot of things I didn’t say. All I’ve said, and remained consistent in saying is if he dreads something, he can take steps to change it. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Yep. Therapy for those who aren’t like you until their social skills meet your exacting standards.
I don’t really think this is the place to be preaching self improvement. You can take a horse to water and force it to drink… but only by drowning it.

I wasn’t preaching self improvement, though. I said he could go to his server forums considering he said he has no problem talking on them and advertise himself so he can find a guild lol
And it seems like you are very defensive. I play the game to play the game, I’m not the greatest I just do the content provided. Raiding is very accessible now and a lot of folks, like you, act like its the old days where you had schedule out 15+ hours of raiding a week.
Throwing down the “WeLl I HaVe A LiFe” card is just a cop out at this point. Instead of puttering around on classic for a few hours or watching tv you can get it done, not saying you have to raid just anyone can make the time. Even if you had a very turbulent work schedule heroic is puggable.

How is talking on the server forums when he admits he has no problem talking on the server forums some kind of exciting standard?
 Shadina:
Shadina:Social tip 2: All things require navigation. Conversation included. If you dread the idea of doing nothing other than LFR, then seek a guild through means you’re comfortable with. You obviously have no problem coming to the forums and talking to someone as you have to me. Use your server forums. Experiment. It’ll be fine in the end as things work themselves out. Just need to make a push.
How is this some kind of exciting standard of social capability when he himself admits:
 Kreivos:
Kreivos:Talking on the forums is one thing, that’s super easy,
O? I thought people just applied to guilds that pursued something they wanted as well. Raiders flock to raiders, pvper flock to pvpers, pet battlers to pet battlers, and etc.
Do people really find guilds via forums and trade chat still?
