Should the forums have a down vote feature?

They used to have a downvote option, but snowflakes couldn’t handle it.

Lmao this is hilarious.

so ban boosts :expressionless: that’s the precedent set by the gdkp ban

“we agree that gdkp causes people to buy gold right?”

ok, that’s true, but on that logic, where do we stop? boosts? auction house? boes? coppre ore?

i think we are all in agreement that without cars, there probably wouldn’t be very many car accidents right? and i think we all agree that without credit cards, there wouldn’t be credit card fraud, well, i’ve got a solution, lets ban cars and credit cards

The logic behind them both is they both harm the game. Boosts make late stage vanilla a dead game for newcomers and casuals.

Like gdkp replaced guilds with gold.

Not only is there rmt driving them, they also harm the social aspect of the game. Ah doesn’t

GDKPs did not replace Guilds! There Were still tons of guild to join. what a ridiculous blanket statement.

GDKPs offered an alternative to being in a guild but was mostly just people already in guilds gearing alts

Yeah, to buy illegal gold to buy gear in GDKPs. And the rest to get a cut of that illegal gold. Good riddance to that.

And it’s hysterical that swipers have to make every thread about GDKPs.  Still so mad at the ban.

It threw a wrench into the works for a lot of people’s side hustle, whether in game or irl.

They don’t allow cars that would cause accidents to enter the market.

They prosecute people and prevent ways of credit card fraud. They don’t continue to allow it.

Like did these arguments work in your head?

It’s beautiful watching the melt downs and then them pretending they aren’t mad

One of my posts got brigaded by agenda driven people who flagged me. Flagging is just as prone to abuse and bad actors as a downvote would be.

u mean like some sort of …banning of the thing that makes causes the abuse instead of the credit card? hmmm

u might be making my point for me but not intentionally

Are you saying rmt isn’t banned? What?

You know what would happen to your post if this existed, right?

The only reason I’m against it is because there are way too many people who either abuse that system or don’t understand it. Dislike button isn’t and never will be exclusively used on troll or disingenuous posts. 99% of its usage will be on people who have a disagreeable opinion, no matter how well articulated. Essentially, up/down become agree/disagree buttons. Since humans have stupid human emotions, running the risk of everyone disagreeing right out the gate will stifle many opinions and thoughts.

It takes a certain mentality to swim against the flow of this (and most) online communities which are by most definitions extremely toxic.

Thus, removal of dislike button(s) actually promotes a more favorable outcome in general. Even if that means suffering a few trolls along the way.

There are lots of posts from the “gdkp bad” echo chamber. I feel like I see more of those than pro gdkp posts

I totally get this point, there are probably people who relied heavily on GDKPs to purchase consumes for the week.

But the problem I have with this point of view is that it conveniently creates and ignores a degree of separation between the player and the potentially RMT’d gold. This allows players to have a clear conscious and not fear a ban, but they still indirectly benefit in the form of a payout which is arguably full of RMT’d gold.

Some of the people on that fence did not go buy gold, because they still fear the consequences (which is good). But other players who feel ‘forced’ to buy gold are players who would have potentially purchased the gold at some point anyway.

It just feels like a convenient excuse to benefit from RMT while not being accountable in any way since its been laundered through trading.

thats a great point but what about all the bots that farm mats and sell them on the AH then take that gold and sell it to players in the form of RMT.

basically if you buy stuff off the auction house you are indirectly contributing to RMT.

so much gold in this game is dirty if you follow the money. either I get the gold from a buyer or you give the gold to a bot to sell to the buyer there is no avoiding it

The amount of people in this thread who don’t realize these forums did have a downvote feature (and not that long ago) is surprising. Are all you people new?
