Should raids be retuned? Yes or no

I like to see comments not from 120s. Go back to retail gaslighter

Because optimal leveling paths had not be determined. Because raid encounters were unknown and being alterned while they were progressing. Because they had to write their own add-ons. Because gear stats had not yet been theory-crafted completely and drop tables were not well known.

If Fury had something like Joana’s guide for leveling, pre-raid bis lists, a comprehensive site like wowhead for gear, modern raid add-ons, and a debugged MC raid instance they would have downed Ragnaros much much faster.

The amount of pulls it took to down Azshara after the last nerf was significantly less for Method compared to Limit. If they’d started at the same time they’d still have lost by a few hours.

Limit also stayed up all night beating their heads against the wall way past the time they’d normally stop so that’s on them. If they had quit at their normal time they’d have been up right after the nerf went live as well.

I realize that < apes > or any other of a plethora of professional vanilla gamers have a decade of practice, that still shouldn’t result in the first tier being down before the first server reset of a fresh server.

In og vanilla thousands of players that came to wow were very seasoned from playing ultima, everquest and others. Yes they were new to wow, but they most definitely were not noobs. And they didn’t drop rag before the first reset. That captures the authentic experience imo.

If you’re familiar with EQ TLP ----> this same stuff happened. Elite hardcore group kills stuff in <24hrs of xpac releases. They added MOTM buff to raid bosses, making them considerably harder (70% melee/spell dmg reduction on the boss, 1500% more hp) and guess what? the neckbeards still killed the stuff in <24 hrs.

The folks wanting harder content, want to feel “elite” again. It’s literally about their feels of their accomplishments.

If neckbeards lvling and killing content fast makes you upset, you’re worrying way too much about others instead of your own fun.

You said blizzard would fix undertuning.

My point is that the experience doesn’t depend on the numbers, raids are easier because of our experience.

I want the raids to require more gear requirements etc. just like the fights intended.

so raid MC with 10 people instead of 40.

Because 10 man raiding is not why I want to play classic.

How does requiring more fire res or increasing rag’s health negatively impact your experience?

This is true, my guild doesn’t even have a 60 yet lol. We will be in mc when bwl opens still likely.

Its just really annoying that a guild could do it that fast. Week 2 would still have been an outrage, but it would have been way more acceptable given the experience gained these past 10 years in the private server circuit.

how does it positively impact yours?

Retuning is antithetical to Classic’s purpose.

If there’s ever a Classic+ or some kind of progression server model, do it there. NOT IN CLASSIC

Those changes you have known were going to be here months before Classic even launched. Yet here you are whining about it.

Changing raid mechanics, is not in the same realm as layering or using 1.12 talents. Your argument is just bad. But you keep on fighting the good fight!

I get to share an experience with my friends that was closer in terms of perception to vanilla.

Nah. Artificially making the raids harder because some nerds need to feel warm and fuzzy pretending “Get out of the raid if you’re the bomb” was super-duper hard seems fairly silly.

The secret’s out nerds: MC with 15 years of exposure isn’t as hard as you think it is.

How does improving class balance, hypothetically?

Lots of people want their own “just one change.”

It was more of the feeling the need to grind for fire resistance etc.(even though we later learned it was needed that much besides tanks.)

Hope that makes sense.

being an eq tlp vet, i’ve seen the boss races. I’ve seen all the tricks get used that weren’t intended for eq, etc. The fast lvling, the ludicrous speed at which things were killed compared to 15-20 yrs ago.
You just gotta play for yourself.

no.
they should’ve used an earlier patch and progressed that way through phases. i doubt they even have much data on these previous patches though. pretty sure they have none except patch notes we can all access which isn’t really all that much to go on.

in the end, this is just the wow museum. its not meant to be a new path of progression and then go through new expansions.

as ion said, classic is up for people to come and see what vanilla was like, if there’s a massive amount of people then great, if its a ghost town with only a few players coming to check it out that’s fine also.

kind of sucks they used this patch but this is what 1.12 was like and this is what we get. if you want them harder just ask for more retail timewalking retuned to harder difficulty. we all know how well those runs go with pugs.

No one wants to play retail guy.

So far this is my favorite sarcastic response. You win the thread.
