Should pop culture refrences and lore be seperate?

Keeshan was good in part because Rambo and WoW always explored similar themes.

Doesn’t feel good when a whole zone like Uldum is a movie, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the questline. I agree that most references should have been toned down and less blatant (maybe keep some small things like the plane scene).

At the very least, the reorigination plot isn’t far removed from Brann and Wow’s usually archeology theme (which already took inspiration from Indiana Jones).
I think the name is what does Jones in because he has been integrated into the lore so much.

Reno Jackson is a better example of a parody name done right. I swear they added him instead of Jones into the Hearthstone expansion because Jones is too close to the source material.

Jackson is also a parody of a parody at this point.

Well, Jones is in Hearthstone and was there first.

Yup, you are right. I just meant it in the sense that he wasn’t a featured character for the Explorers League Expansion(s). It seems weird that they didn’t use him when he was already a base card in the game. It makes Reno’s appearance redundant unless they wanted a more original character to fill the role
