Remember back when I forced desktop vega graphics on a laptop vega igpu?
The card that utilize adrenalin edition drivers, which is from the hd 7700 series up to the RX Vega series, are installed via by the list of approved cards (theres a big list when I manually installed desktop vega on the igpu)
Without ddu, you are basically forcing Windows to continue to use “RX 580” drivers with the vega 64
You can try but Windows might not like that
Dpm is unlocked on rx Vega, its not on the RX 580, without the correct drivers you’d probably be running with half features
But then again even if you did not do ddu
It would not recognize anyway
It might or might not corrupt because you are forcing to use different drivers without ddu but you are welcome to show us that experience
Another example: I have a hd 7990 and swapped it with a r9 270 on a dummy PC build ( to mess with)
Both can utilize adrenalin edition drivers
I forgot to ddu when swapping gpu (2 am and tired) and it just blue screen of death on me
Luckily card was fine
