Wasn’t there an option to hide your character profiles? I mean sure that’s probs not gonna get you any invites either but I thought they gave you the option to basically hide your toons to prevent them from showing up their score?
I have no idea what mine is but the highest I have ran is +5. I have never used it though.
Thats not true at all.
Only your best run is recorded. You can’t just fail 1000 runs and have a massive score, it doesn’t work like that.
Mythic players are toxic little karens that demand a full backround check
dont really need the addon i just use the website if i feel like i need to
doesnt matter if you have the addon or not, I still see your score as it’s ripped by raider.io from the armory
No, its not. It only takes your best dungeon run. It doesn’t measure “how often”.
Not unless those groups are better.
You can tie the score to your alt.
What is your characters name that this happened on?
If I have 20 people applying to be in my group, how would you suggest I pick a person?
I don’t think people care as much atm. What really matters is item level this time around, we are not showered in items like with BFA so if someone is 190+ right now you know they do more content than heroic dungeons.
Actually , ilvl at the moment only means how lucky you got
i have 605io but only 195ilvl .
People are clearing 15s already with 200ilvl and less , knowing the dungeons will always trump ilvl for mythic+ .
But personally , idc bout the score , i just like doing the all to 7s , then all to 8s , all to 9s , all to 10s , etc and i join group , never form them !
Edit: To answer OP , the main reason to get the IO addon is to know people who are just trying to get carried(they ask for X score but dont have half of that)
Outside of it , its up to you , you can just use the website instead .
you don’t need to get the addon
you have io score, just by merit of doing m+
Having been around for the ‘link achievement’, gear score, and item level nonsense… RIO feels a lot more fair.
- You have a score even without the addon, as long as you time a M+ key.
- You can link you account to the website which will connect all of your characters to the main one, giving you a fancy “Main’s Score” for others to see.
- The addon wont show your score in game until your character breaks a score of 200. (kind of a negative, but is what it is)
- Score is based purely on timing a dungeon key and at which difficulty.
- You do not gain more score for spamming a dungeon on the same difficulty.
- You do not gain or lose score for failing to time a key.
So timing a De Other Side on +2 will get you 20 score. If you were to time another DOS on +4, it’ll increase your score for DOS from 20 to 40. As long as you keep progressing up the plus difficulty and doing every dungeon on higher and higher ranks, your score will climb.
If you just buy a carry, and someone checks the website… definitely wont look suspicious at all that you go from failing +3’s or +4s straight into timing a +10 with 4 people on the same server and likely the same guild… nope. Nothing suspicious there.
I’m about as casual as they come, I avoided doing mythic dungeons in WoD, didn’t do them in Legion, didn’t do them in all but the last season of BfA either, and even then, only a few up to +12. RIO definitely isn’t the problem, it’s a fear of trying and expecting to jump up the ladder of progression.
I invited based on ilvl to my 12 mists key and we timed it.
You should, IMO.
Or you can just not be an idiot and link a main with a decent score to your alts, so people can see that mains score and tell if you know what you’re doing or not.
All the addon does is let you see scores. Everyone has scores, with or without the addon. The data is straight from blizz.
So getting the addon won’t “help” you find groups, as everyone can already see your score.
However, it will help you pick groups to apply to that actually have a clue, by judging their scores.
There is but it’s opt out, meaning you yourself have to go out of your way to create an account on the site, link your character and hide its profile. And even then, you’re still not safe from people looking at your armory. All that for nothing because you still get declined because it’s suspicious in the first place to hide your profile.
You can absolutely get score for a failed key if the score from that failed key is higher than whatever you previously had.
lol right. i have no idea.
Do you enjoy being part of egotistical elitist groups ? then yes get it.
If you actually want to enjoy the game and play with great people ? don’t get it.
RaiderIO is just the newest way to exclude people based on arbitrary things much like gearscore back in the day.
If you’re in a guild just do guild runs. Really it’s an addon for PuGs, but even then I’d take the scores with a grain of salt. There’s a handful of people who buy runs to boost their score. Not sure how often this happens in Shadowlands, but there was quite a bit of complaining about people in high keys not knowing their own class or mechanics in bfa.
