Should I buy a digital Blizzcon ticket..?

Been thinking about buying a digital ticket for a while, not for the cosmetics, but to watch the reveals and the panels. Was plannning it…before all this…

Just worried the show will turn into a horror show.

Anyone else in the same space? Could wait until after the con, if it went well then buy the ticket and watch the VODs…but would have to avoid the internet for 3+ days to avoid spoilers. Bah!

Very subjective whether it’s worth it or not.

It’s kinda similar to paying to watch a sporting event like an mma event. If you’re a big fan it’s probably worth it, if your not, I doubt it is.

To me, it’s not worth it, I’d rather just watch the “highlights” after the fact.

Honestly if you dont want the cosmetics then you should just wait. Everything will eventually be posted on 3rd party website’s or talked about on here.

Wait 5 minutes after anything is announced and it will be on the net. I wouldn’t waste the money personally.

Yeah I guess, there is something about watching it live with loads of other nerds. Feels like an event, I may not be able to be there - but in spirit! I also find the full panels really interesting to watch, the developers explain their thought process. They will obviously announce Diablo 4, but I am more interested in the panel where they explain the mechanics. That stuff is harder to find on 3rd parties, especially with Blizzard being pretty aggressive with copyright strikes (as they should be - its their event).

I may buy it, plus Zandalari Troll has to look hilarious in the costume.

I’m not buying a virtual ticket because I think the questions will all be pre-arranged, anything exciting would be omitted and it’s just not that interesting.

I did get a VT once, it put me to sleep so if you have insomnia it could be a good thing.

  • Also, like Lug above said, if you wait you can see it on YouTube.

The panels and shows are not on Youtube, Twitter, Facebook etc. That’s what I get the ticket for .

this was my thoughts too…just worried I buy a ticket and the event becomes consumed by…well we all know by now.

Only real reason is for the in-game rewards (which is truly a shame they aren’t you know split up at varying prices) since all the actual footage will end up on the internet the next day as will announcements, plus thats the only way to see all of it since Acti-Blizzard will censor and cut out bits they don’t like.

Like i just want those OP bloody battle pets! screw the OW skins or Hearthstone back.

Do it or don’t, there is no should. -Yoda, probably.

Meh I went last year and despite the DI panel,it was enjoyable and nothing really bad happened. Security is pretty beefy there so whether they’re on the pro or anti-Blizz side of extremes, they’ll be escorted out quickly before anybody can do anything that could get themselves hurt or arrested. Look at the whole A 51 thing a few weeks back. People fortunately just had a get together, nerded out, grilled food had a good time and only a small handful ended up doing something stupid to get a night in the drunk tank. In this case being a huge event at a convention hall close to Disneyland you bet there’s going to be heavy duty security and Anaheim PD seldom mess around. [Hell the Mighty Ducks games go on in that area so if they’re ready for hockey hooligans they’ll be ready for edgelords trying to play “hero”]

Do I get recruit-a-friend credit if I talk you into buying one?

( Alas, I fear I can’t in clear conscience say that I found the streams terribly exciting in past years - all the info will get out into the world; the ticket is a pure luxury for people with money or tokens to burn )

Every year I just pop onto Wowhead every hour or so to see all the new shiz.

I enjoyed the Starcraft and the AI panel a lot, since that year, I’ve bought digital tickets .

not worth it if you just play wow, man blizzard is greedy sometimes, virtual ticket is near the top of that list.

Yeah I’m quite torn about it. I like being able to see all the news as soon as it happens, even if it is at an ungodly hour of the morning for me. But I can’t stand the awkwardness of things going wrong during live events. It makes me very uncomfortable. And you just know some people are going to try and mess it up.

if you really like the experience of seeing it live then I say go for it. First of all if there is any disturbance I am sure it will be very minimal and just ignore it and concentrate on the main topics. Secondly, the security in the U.S is much much more tighter and strict. Do not let the actions of a violent minority influence how you live your life that is how they win.

edit: just prepare extra popcorn and soda in case some do want to make a fool of themselves and just treat it as extra entertainment  Just enjoy the con for what it is  I am already very excited for all the surprise videos and announcement they will make there

They increased price from 40$ to 50$ saying how 10$ increase is due to Classic demo, and yet this year not only did ticket price increase, but also virtual ticket price remained the same, so no I wouldn’t buy it, not unless there was some justification on why it’s 50$ again.
This is just greed.

Sadly inflation. Even McDonalds and other fast food chains has increased their prices this year :frowning:
