Agreed completely. Still my most wanted remaster from Blizzard. Still not seeing why it hasnt been yet. Would be the easiest to do presumably.

Nah. Gameplay-wise, Warcraft 2 shows its age pretty badly - any graphics update would probably involve overhauling that gameplay as well almost by necessity, and that’s a can of worms you don’t want to open.

I mean, I’m all for Blizzard releasing a version that plays nice with modern systems and monitors, but the whole Reforged approach works best with Warcraft 3.

How about they release a new game instead of cashing in on nostalgia? Eh, at least they ant trying to sell W3 reforged for 60 dollars.

Yes, I too miss only having two factions that play virtually identically to each other without any heroes. Bring back that game please.

Without heroes? Are you crazy? Also look at the game we are playing now “Yes, I too miss only having two factions that play virtually identically to each other”.

Many of us want it but the reality is that it isn’t happening. Not ever. For reasons probably related to time and resources required to do it.

Different genre. In an RTS, two factions that play identically to each other matters because that means you only have one variety of playstyle. Starcraft was revolutionary for the RTS genre specifically because it featured three factions that felt completely distinct from each other.

Also, those “heroes” in WC2 weren’t heroes. They were only heroes in the same way that SC1 had “heroes.” Those guys were liabilities more than anything else.

Yeah, ideally I’d like Warcraft 4 to happen, but…eh.

I honestly feel like the next ‘new’ Warcraft RTS title will be a franchise reboot. So basically starting over again with Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, but with a fancy modern take on the story and gameplay.

There were still hero units present. I’m not saying a reskin, I want it “re-imagined” without changing all the story n such.

I mean something new, like how they made overwatch instead of just another sequel.

Its a i wouldve rather had this remaster than that one thought.

My bad, it’s been a long day. >.<

Honestly, with the Warcraft 3 World Editor as is, it’s actually not that hardto replicate the Warcraft 2 stats, spells and overall gameplay - let alone before the fancy additions they’re adding to the new World Editor. So I mean, if you wanted to remake Warcraft 2 as a fan project, then you probably could.

To me humans and orcs is the steak n taters of the game. Just my opinion, miss that more brutal feeling of the old.

So Warcraft 40,000 then…

I miss the old aesthetic too tbh. Orcs, Ogres, Trolls and Goblins duking it out against Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Gnomes was awesome. Warcraft 2 was one of the first games I properly fell in love with as a gamer, and I miss it a lot.

But at the same time I think going back and trying to sell Warcraft 2 in the modern gaming landscape is unrealistic and, unfortunately, just not cost effective.

Like I said above, I think the next ‘new’ RTS title will be a reboot of sorts, so eventually we’ll get back to that Warcraft 2 period. But I’d rather it be a new take on the lore and story of that era rather than a remake of Warcraft 2.

lol, you’re not wrong.

So starcraft then but with orks? I can smell the cease and desist order from geedubs already.

I remember playing warcraft 2 the first time as a child, when the orcs came out of the woods and started slaughtering my peons, it freaked me out.
