With Dragonflight MOTFW was a talent point to convert FDK from a DW spec to a 2H spec. This was made free to not penalize 2H FDK by making it spend a talent point.
Now Oblit and Frost Scythe have been buffed to be the main damage dealer and Breathe wants us to spend alot of KMs to extend it. The more Oblit and Scythe get buffed the stronger MOTFW 30% increase becomes.
We have now reached a stage where we are in a reverse situation from the launch of Dragonflight. FDK seems to be a 2H spec baseline and now needs to spend two talent points to spec into DW.
I think there are two simple options here. One use MOTFW as a tuning nob and just add some Frost Strike and Glacial Advance damage to DW. Two rework MOTFW to a cosmetic talent that lets FDK transmog 2H.
They ruined a unique spec, the only dual wilding melee that worked perfectly fine, by listening to ret arded role players on the forums. This is why you don’t listen to loud minorities ever.
PoV DW falls out of the meta for 1 season and the DW crowd cries on the forums xd
PoV, Weapon homogenization is the only path forward, Wonder how many more years ill have to say that before people realize it as truth
PoV, Frost is not a DW spec, Never was, Its always been both 2h and DW, And it should have always stayed that way, It shouldve never been based off of auto attack crits and extremely unrealistic expectations of uptime

No it shouldnt. What Blizzard did with making specs weapon specific was the smart thing to do, the dumb thing was adding subspecs back through weapon choice and not just going the transmog route.
SMF isnt an option unless they went back on their word. SMF are for people wanting to roleplay, just like 2h Frost players. They want to roleplay a predominately Unholy NPC in a spec that isnt Unholy, and ruin a whole spec for their wannabe larp session.
Good, now remov 2h and MotFW and make 2h a transmog option for Frost like it should have been all along. There is no point in keeping this nonsense going.
Thing is… the weapon parity between 2h and DW seems like a conundrum compared to SMF Fury when 9 times out of 10, people would go Titan’s Grip anyway. Besides… objectively… 2-handed weapons just give more overall stats that SMF would ever compete. Their solution is probably the most elegant one.
Personally, if I am to make SMF a thing with using 1-handed weapons… I would just make SMF baseline and provide more to compete with TG but then that would just make one always better than the other. Their solution eliminates this which is fine by me.
As for weapon agonistic for Frost… personally, I want DK as a whole to be weapon agonistic. HECK, ADD SWORD AND BOARD TO DKS and make Runeforging a lot more interesting than just enchantments slapped into a weapon.
Some Runeforge require 2-handed, some runeforge work with 1-handed. All of them should be good enough to be used over Weapon Enchants. FC should be part of Class Tree at this point for the sake of variety.
Maybe Unholy Bond as one of the children with different parents rather than FC having multiple children in the tree.
Runeforging definitely could do with some new pizzazz.
Making DK weapon agnostic isn’t even that difficult.
And given they are moving transmog off the gear and onto the gear slot. It’s definitely time to re-add some of that RP back into this MMORPG. Let Blood and Unholy DW. Mage has a Staff equipped but wants to swing a 1H? Let 'em! It’s long overdue that Blizz makes transmog as good as in other games. if not better.
Why not? Is it just because I said it and you are still whining because I said making BoS baseline was a dumb idea? Splitting the spec is as much of a dumb idea as making BoS baseline. You do know they can just have a talent that increases BoS another 30% right and give it to DW so you wouldnt be missing anything and you would gain the benefits of DW right?
