So…forgive me if this is a dumb question but I haven’t played the game in a bit but… is there a spell that allows priests to dispel disease and magic together or is it still two spells? I mean if we could mass dispel magic why not all the stuff we can cleanse instead of just magic? Not asking for us to cleanse more dots than we already can just…kinda annoying having use two different spells to cleanse different things
Healer specializations have the same dispel as the base class but it gets ‘upgraded’ to include magic to make up for the fact of how important magic dispels are, they don’t get a separate button just for magic dispels (though Mass Dispel is something else entirely just for Priests).
Thats what I meant in the original post.
Hot take dispels are generally boring mechanics to begin with as far as pve is concerned. Its just really easy for dispels to be unfun because its a mechanic that is in the pvp and pve zone where its relevant in both and therefore doesn’t always make sense for one or the other. In the case of pve the 8 second cd sometimes just doesn’t make sense and has lead to the shenanigans that made alternatives like mass dispel/revival borderline required for keys or even as of fyrakk bosses. As another example of the pvp v pve class design issue I would point to things like certain class utilities ie I am 99% certain the main reason why priests don’t have an interrupt is pvp related.
There have been good dispel mechanics before, but more often then not dispel mechanics nowadays are either: debuff that slows you by 10% but shows up like any debuff and you realize its not worth your time eventually, or debuff that will kill your hunter if its allowed to exist longer then .1 seconds.
Except afflicted ![]()
and the not so rare scaling disease poison dots from various dungeons. There was a curse one in s1 in jade temple that made me rage a fair bit on my priest at the time.
It would be worse if it was magic.
You’d gain warlocks if they wanted to gut their damage with the imp.
And lose dps/tank:
Paladin
Shaman (including Poison Cleansing Totem)
Evoker
Druid
Monk
Priest
Mage
It would be worse if it was magic.
I meant if they added magic to the list. I’m just salty I have to spec into it on my priest during those weeks ![]()

I was kinda…talking of an AoE cleanse that’s like mass dispel but cleanses disease. If it doesn’t exist it should as it might make things easier on healers who get yelled at by people who either can’t or are too lazy to remove disease dots they get hit with
Mistweaver monk has it as a 3 minute CD but it is also one of their big group-wide healing CDs.
Blizzard took a middle stance to this a few expansions ago; each healer can remove Magic debuffs but also have other dispels that varies from class to class.

Ah…okay then…I was talking about priests not just any healer but good to know mistweavers got that ability. Honestly seemed like an ability people would love in some raids that if nobody had it I’d of been surprised
If a dungeons mechanics require specific things, dispels, interrupts ect, they should be standard kit.
Yeah, mass dispel is only for magic and was heavily nerfed to a 2minute CD, Restoral/Revival being the monk versions at 3 minutrs and Evoker has an AoE magic cleanse PvP talent but besides that, all dispels are single target.
