Should Blizzard listen to the community?

We have a tontine going. I’m going to be last man alive.

Yes they should considering we pay for their wages.

I think Blizzard does listen to the community, but not in the traditional sense (just reacting of forum posts, videos on social media, etc). Instead, they have the most valuable source which will likely never be disclosed: Data about player’s behavior. About everything. They surely have a dedicated team to analyze the players behavior data based on countless logs. We’re talking about 20 years of collected logs! Some examples:

  • How many % of the active subscriptions play Retail vs Classic or both;
  • % of playerbase who participates on endgame pillars (Mythic+, Raids, PVP) or outdoor events
  • % of playerbase that buys store mounts or participate from trading post
  • % of playerbase who plays entirely solo
  • Most playable specs/races, etc

So basically they can have any data/statistics they want and take decisions based on it. Forum/social media/PTR feedbacks maybe are just a complementary part but not the biggest driver of it.

Every quest I’ve done in betas after quest completion or on the quest I’d write “thank you blizzard I love you. :slight_smile: ” every. Single. Quest. Pure satisfaction.

This also isn’t helped by the fact that some want outlandish things being done in the game even if its new playable races to new classes. People get a little TOO excited and their demands in my opinion are kind of outlandish. I think they’d be more welcome to more leveled to the core of the game ideas though.
