This is what I was going to say. Completely agree with this idea.
I could possibly see some of the ideas being dropped into a new tier of pvp, like a type of brawl, but other than that no.
Iād love to have some way of buying or earning the cogs, honestly. Limit it to one that can be used a time, like in ReMOP, but being able to ābranch outā with new skills like that would be fantastic. I mean, it becomes a balance issue, like always, so folks would freak out, but make it non dungeon/raid only then, or something. Let me go have fun in the open world with extra speed and no falling damage, or something.
I enjoyed the gearing in Remix much more than the crap in BFA, SL and DF, lol.
The gem sockets were a really cool thing.
Upgrading and Gem swapping would make it better tbh. Make every gear has gem sockets ala remix with different gems that do different things.
But they need a better interface for the gems tbh. Like how Narcissus has.
And Getting random XP gains for your account ala threads by doing whatever that is relevant to your level. Even endgame raiding/Dungeons, etc.
And free mogging ovbiously.
The one thing I liked was adding gems to gear. Like if they just made gear only have your primary stat and then 3-4 gem slots and have gems add all your secondary stats would be cool but have the stamina included.
Therefore your gems would be:
Mastery & Stamina
Speed & Stamina
Crit & Stamina
Etc
All gear including weapons have gems. This would allow players to better min max their stats.
Maybe even allow players to create custom gems of two stats and not just stamina like a Leech & Versatility gem.
I think having more sockets on armor would be nice that way people can tweak their stats a lot more. And bring back shoulder enchants and meta gems. Nothing too OP, perhaps a proc for some primary stat, or a ppm damage effect.

Everyone knows mop remix is just to level alts.
Other than that itās the most boring content in the game.
If nothing else, speed boosts. I logged i to my troll to start the heritage armor quest and it felt like I was walking through molasses.
Only idea i have for adding remix into the regular game is making it part of the Chromie Time experience and once a player leaves that the gear goes normal and only gems like mast/crit/haste and vers gems can stay active while tinker and cog wheel gems are shut down .
lolā¦yeah, thereās gonna be a LOT of complaining when we all go back to retail and lose those god powers.
The forum will be bombarded with threads about it, no doubt.
LFR for all old raids for leveling, transmog gathering and perhaps explorer gear gathering at max or maybe just non upgradeable gear set at the lowest explorer gear item level or a couple item levels below it. Maybe just do one expansions worth of raids per week.
They could just introduce a āfun modeā lfr queue that overscales you. This could drop explorer gear (since lfr drops veteran and im guessing story mode will drop adventurer). Or just make my first idea above be the fun mode overscaling. I dont really see an issue having the ācrazyā āfun modeā being in retail at the lowest gear tier level.
One currency to get introductory gear and transmog would be nice too with many ways to farm it. Rare farming can be fun but atm its lackluster for rewards in retail. (maybe too many conflicts for this though)
I like the heroic leap for all classes and leave everything else behind.
A currency that can be used to by all the old sets is prob the beat thijg remix can give retail.
Like durijg fated season we can get all the armor sets from every raid and pvp season with a fated currency. I mean they are already close we can do that for trinkets and weapon appearances. Why not full raid sets?
Thatās the other thing. If classic loot rules kick in then sets and items can be picked up by any class.

I think there are some elements from Remix that could be co-opted by Retail.
For example, the idea of killing random mobs and gaining power and tangible rewards like gems and abilities is a fantastic thing. The issue is power creep and players abusing these dropped items or abilities and balancing.
The most obvious way I could see the thread system being retrofitted is via a legendary armor or weapon system, where killing random mobs can net you positive rewards associated with your legendary armor or weapon. Maybe your weapon or armor becomes stronger or unlocks abilities much like Tier gear. Or, maybe you unlock new appearances for those items.
The gem system isnāt impossible, but itād have to be toned done a bit. But, the idea of killing random mobs and getting gems is also very appealing. So, imagine weāre in TWW zones killing earth themed mobs and we find rough gems, and we could have jewel crafters polish or cut those gems, or maybe use them as currency for NPCās.

Well⦠OK, 1 thing they could take from it to Retail: Singular currency to do things. The Bronze system is elegant in its simplicity. You want things - cosmetics, mounts, power - pay Bronze. You donāt have bronze, get Bronze. I donāt have 20+ currencies thrown at me for stupid reasons, needing an excel spreadsheet to figure out what I need to actually progress my character.
