Should Alliance King have a coronation?

I want a different race to lead the Alliance. Tired of human-only monarchy. It just is getting boring, past 20+ years, only humans lead the Alliance. I main human characters but I want to take a backseat and let other races come forward. Diversity is only good when you give them equal opportunity.

And that is stupid as hell. What the **** kind of moronic bs is that?

The Alliance is like, let’s make the dumb 18 year old who has no military or leading experience (not counting Vanilla - WotLK since Bolvar was obviously leading) the High King of the Alliance because his daddy was the leader. HERP DERP.

Gotta love Human Potential.

I agree with this to a less hyperbolic extent. I don’t think Anduin should be the leader of the Alliance. The Kingdom of Stormwind? Sure. It’s a monarchy. The faction, however, should not be.

Anduin is quick-witted and intelligent and surely has been taught leadership and military strategies since he was old enough to stand. He has been giving orders since before 10. I’m unsure if Varian brought him along on exploration missions, because Varian coddled the kid. He was a helicopter parent, desperate to protect Anduin because he’s all Varian had left. This is probably why Anduin found himself in books more often than a battlefield.

As Wrathion once said, Anduin needs to learn some of his father’s hardness. Not all of it. Anduin is a different person. Not a warrior, but someone smarter, and a healer. Frankly, that’s what his Kingdom needs.

The whole of the Alliance, though? No. I’ve remained that Tyrande is the most experienced military leader with a hardness that a faction needs.

(Shadowlands spoilers:) Turalyon has taken place on the throne in Anduin’s absence, and I have a feeling that may continue to an extent even after Anduin’s return.

And it took a “trick Elf sword” to even touch the Dark Lady.

Sylveranus isn’t strong. Her sugar daddy giving her power is

That will continue to extent so that they can villain bat Turalyon and have Anduin save the Alliance and become the holier than thou savior that is always right because Blizzard has a hard on for the Wrynn family.

I’d love to eat my words and be wrong, but I know I am not. They are setting Turalyon up to become a fanatic for the Light in a “Tyranny of Light” type expansion. Meanwhile, setting up Anduin to be the true chosen one who finds balance between Light and Void as we see him use “dark powers” in the Shadows Rising novel, even though he is highly connected to the Light.

It will be BS and probably make me quit WoW for good. Making Anduin some savior of the Alliance or Azeroth would be just as bad as giving Sylvanas redemption.

Sweet after that can we make Jaina an empress?

I want the Knights of the Silver Hand comeback in Lordaeron.

And a Knights of the Shrouded Hand or something run the Forsaken. And they can get Naxxramus. Move Exodar to Goldshire.

Makes it clear where the lines are drawn in regards to national borders.

A Elf sword used on Elf is a trick. The logic Sylvanas sycophants employ sometimes is amazing.

Ah you’re right. Maybe it’s been taken for granted that the king of the human kingdom is to be the high king of the alliance.
I think it can be changed. Why not. It’s just a mutual agreement among race leaders. If they think Anduin’s not good enough for leading the entire faction, (and Anduin knows about this, you can read it from Found Memento questline), the high king can be changed. Anduin’s my favorite, but I like all the other alliance race leaders too. I play Worgen and Nelf too, so especially Genn and Tyrande.

I just want Blizz to develop Anduin’s character well. They missed the chance when Anduin couldn’t persuade Tyrande about Darkshore and when Sylvanas fled, twice, so he needs another chance. Like

This is a good development, I mean, it’s necessary. Since he’s a strong priest.

This is very bad and exactly what I’m worried about. Apparently people can see the same thing. It’s just another Mary Sue. I hate what they did to Sylvanas, and they do the same thing to Anduin? :persevere:

And I hope Blizz stop messing with our paladins anymore. They let a Mary Sue EZ defeat Bolvar, they let Guldan kill Tirion with bare hands, they let Yrel go fanatic, and now they try to ruin the character of Uther.
Gees. Pls leave Turalyon alone. If Blizz really really need an Alliance hero villain? My pick is Calia or Alleria. Turalyon could die stopping her, then Arator will follow his father’s legacy as a paladin.

I’m hoping the Knights of the Silver Hand take over Lordaeron and then swoop in and take command of the Alliance.

Not peaceably, either. Entirely heavy-handed. Then an inquisition against the races that don’t follow their ideology like the bestial worgen.

Basically I want a “wild,-side” Alliance (nightelf and worgen) and a Crusader (stern-side) and they only battle together at the end of the world like in Legion.

It would give space and time for the myriad races to do their own thing in a generation’s time.

Same for the Horde. Wild-side then a militant side. Both break up and then combine only when it’s war time.

we’ll see after Shadowlands what’s going to happen.

Wooo the entire Alliance led by a bunch of Pallies? That makes even me scary. Haha
Who’s the head of the Silver Hand now anyway? wait, isn’t it me? The Highlord.

I can see you don’t like Anduin as high king lol well that’s fine. Many people don’t. :joy:

But
it seems that Blizz wants to “break the cycle” lol I don’t think there will be many faction conflicts in SL. Actually I don’t think there will be any (official) faction conflicts at all. People will be busy with Covenants, Shadowlands lore, Uther, Ysera, Draka, Kaelthas, Garrosh, Arthas, Torghast
and then, 9.3, bam end of the world. Against Jailor and hopefully Sylvanas.

Agree with the first part, hate the second part.

I don’t want Genn leading the Alliance because that would only further ruin the Worgen identity worse than they already have. As it is they are just borderline furry Stormwind Humans, but at least we have Genn still as the King of Gilneas. Make him the leader of the Alliance and you take that away from him.

I want Genn to focus more on reclaiming Gilneas for his people, not leading the Alliance.

Could always just have the new gilnean empire. I dont like how weak the alliance is often potrayed in story.

Are you talking about WoW or something else? You think humans are “Supremacists” controlling the Alliance as elitists? Everytime the Horde gets a new War Chief they die a horrible death usually in one expansion or they run off and abandon the Horde. How is that better?

Technically that’d be Velen even moreso. Especially after Legion

I can’t say you’re wrong. He is a fanatic. Hopefully he opens his eyes.

The way you’re wording this is a bit extreme. Anduin, like all faction leaders, is to be a hero in some respects. For Azeroth or for his faction, he will play the part of a hero. Savior of all? Probably not. It’ll be a team effort if it comes to that.

I will be quitting WoW over other Anduin-related lore things, though.
