Should a CM be snarky on twitter?

The world has not been that way for a very long time , less so now with the digital age. Its only going to get worse

This is why I play WoW, so I can live in such a fantasy world.

I want to sign up to twitter now. Just to be rude to Devs and get all indignant when they respond in kind.

My future tweet to Blizz: “You are bad and should lose your livelihood!”

Blizz response tweet: “Snark.”

My future tweet to Blizz: “AMG! I’m the customer! Blizzard just did a hate crime!”

The world is not beyond saving and it starts right here, in this thread if we want it to. So which is it? Do you want to be part of the problem or part of the solution?

On a different note just remember that government can now trace your DNA because of all of those family members of yours who wanted to see if they were really 25% Irish.

A while back the company I work for (around 550 employees I think) had a girl in CS who was friends with the company Facebook (friends or something, not sure how Facebook works tbh) and on her private Facebook she vented about how customers are stupid and disrespectful and all that jazz…

I’m not sure exactly what happened, but she was in deep poop and a few days later she either quit or was fired and chose to not finish out the week or something.

She was kinda cute too ;.; But I understand my employers position on it. How does that help business again?! Why do people feel every thought they have must be shared with the world?!

I don’t get it, everyone knows there are dumb unreasonable customers out there… Broadcasting that fact publicly makes you dumb…

Twitter is a cess pool . The world would be a better place if it was no longer around . The biggest reason is Twitter refuses to fairly police itself and enforce its own rules

The funny thing is, this would probably actually work, with or without any intended ironic humor.

I definitely understand the need to vent. But while I’m not very familiar with Twitter, I do know that Facebook will allow you to set the audience to private and then pick and choose what you want to make public.

Just a thought.

I feel like, you’ve basically turned this thread into a ‘Down With the Internet: The Evils of Social Media; A Study of Modern Communication Failures’ thread.

A friend of mines daughter was a teacher , had been for about 5 years. She posted some pics of her wedding reception and talked about getting drunk that night . When she came back from her honeymoon she was fired and not able to get a teaching job since

Same thing happened to my sister. If a friend posts on that, their friends can now see your friends activity. Then if they post now THEIR friends can now see it. There are privacy levels that can be set, but I am not sure what is the default that most people are using.

I just want to say that how Lore behaves and his attitude is basically the opposite of what I imagine is a great community manager. Every Q&A I watch he seems like he’d much rather be somewhere else. And on social media he comes off as arrogant, close minded, snobby and condescending. It’s disheartening. :frowning:

Wonder if others feel the same way?

Social media is a trap if you are in the workforce . It does not take much to cost you a job.

Jesus… I had no idea. What a perfect recipe for a class 5 :poop:storm…

I’m not either – or Facebook, for that matter. Facebook proved itself to be a cesspit of unnecessary drama some years ago, so I discontinued the use of my account and haven’t bothered with it since. Probably coming up on a decade, if not more.

I can understand that social media has its uses, but the problem I see with it is that once you open that window into your life, the choice to shut that window is rarely as easily made or painless.

I’m not arguing that point, I just think it’s funny that you are.

Very true, and very troubling. But that’s a whole other ball of wax.

He’s a human being like you and I…why can’t he be snarky? It’s his personal twitter account. I mean no one has to follow him if they don’t like him.

A lot of the kids and young adults have been raised on social media and actually lack good communication skills with people face to face . This leads to problems as well.
