Nope there is no chance it’ll be permanent.
Should it be permanent? Sure.
I think it gives great incentive to those that were hesitant - to finally muck about with leveling more which means more players playing, which is a business win-win move.
YIKES!
So I’d have a 1,050% xp buff…I mean…alright
Why even level? Might as well make it so you can just make a max level toon based on the previous expansion… So I suppose with Shadowlands - just make a level 50 character right away and jump in.
Cool I’m at 450%
Pre-orders give you a free boost so there ya go.
I hopped on my lvl 65 Spriest in hopes to finally level her up to 100 in order to unlock the Void Elf heritage armor. That 100% xp bonus was barely noticeable.
because your probably lvling in BC zones, which is terrible exp regardless of the exp modifier. try spamming BC or wotlk dungeons till 80.
This is probably the rate of leveling intended in Shadowlands, but even when this buff is gone we can look forward to a Pre-Patch event such as the Legion Invasions we had before, or even another iteration of Korrak’s Revenge.
If they also brought back korraks with 100% bonus exp, it would be heaven
They’ll realize they’re rushing toward all the BFA grinds. I’m most looking forward to Shadowlands having us level through a single expansion so we can relive the glory of whatever our favorite expansion(s) were rather than just rushing toward an expansion we may or may not like so much.
That said, I do intend to take the opportunity to go ahead and build up a stable of profession alts. So far I only maxxed this demon hunter to do pathfinder for future alts, and a mag’har orc warrior to get nearly all weapon and plate xmogs. I used my SL level boost on a rogue to clear dozens of boxes in my banks, and will likely make the rogue an engineering/alchemist. Next I’m thinking nightfallen clothie (who has the best legion order hall to look at?) with tailoring and jewelcrafting. And after that maybe highmountain tauren shaman with skinning/leatherworking. Another clothie with enchanting and something…
I haven’t seen all the old content yet, so will only blast my stable of alts through content I already know. Save the unknown content for SL when I’ll have the time to enjoy them. (just twilight and deepholme and halves of expacs I blew through too fast)
You take blizzards word on that. I wouldn’t do that. They could slap on a 5% experience buff in shadowlands and it would still be faster than now. What people will remember is Korrak and this 100% xp buff. It reminds me of the pre-legion event which also was great…
Make sure you make a few gathering alts too, to feed these professions. It helps a lot.
I suspect them breaking out professions this expansion means they are likely to but them all on equal footing in SL. My guess is ivls in those xpacs will all end up equal, so something made with a Vanilla profession will be on the same level as equivalent gear in Legion.
Just a guess, but it stands to reason.
They’ve already told us how it will work, so yes, I’m POSITIVE about it.
Think about this: Your current path just to get to BfA is you have to go through 5 previous xpacs in some form, PLUS BfA
In SL, you will have to go through 1, BfA INCLUDED. That’s already obviously faster.
lol so right now I should have 600% xp bonus?
I think the 50% cut in time is part of the change for Shadowlands and they will need to “make it bad again” before then for it to feel like a benefit to get the xpac.
But it is nice to have it now during this quarantine, so that’s an unexpected good gesture from Bliz.
Definitely… Now that they have the mechanic / buff in game, they will put it in the store. I could also see a rep gain buff in the store soon as well.
I don’t think it should be extended, since this is supposed to assist us during the stay-home situation. Once it’s over, we can always use Rest XP
That’s what I’m hoping for. They said something about being able to pick 1 expansion and then be able to level from like 10 to next expansion. Sounds too good to be true so we’ll see how/if that happens.
Who is this “we”?
If you havevn’t leveled through your favorite content in many years, is it really your favorite?
A lot of us have started much more recently. I don’t see “glory” in those old expansions that have been gutted to remove most of the fun or immersion stuff. The stuff connected with a story that only some of which was presented at the time.
As of this moment, leveling has been turned into a boring slog. They have said nothing about adding back stuff that was taken out.
I’m not looking forward to repeating some expansion I’ve done many times before because I had to choose which leveling zone on rails to do.
Ok so? it was still there. What’s your point, or do you just want to be a victim?
It’s not “too good to be true”.
That’s exactly what they are doing.
A new starting zone, and a single expansion from 10-50. After that, Shadowlands.
It’s a reality.
