I hope by weak defensives, you’re specifying Devastation specifically. (Because it is a spec without a cheat.)
I went from melee to this so I don’t really understand the problem.
Battle covered the answers above, so I won’t be redundant.
You literally mentioned two “mobility” spells that require someone else to be next to you or positioned in a way to use (verdant embrace & rescue). Also, time spiral gives everyone more mobility so that’s not a plus on mobility.
There are a lot more mobile classes. Preheat and other world first raiders have made spreadsheets about this matter, it’s on wowhead. They noted that the “experiment” of shorter range did not work and felt awful after the first raid tier as Blizzard moved away from catering raids for evoker, which was bound to happen. They couldn’t really continue catering boss mechanics just for one class.
Once again, first raid tier was catered/designed with evokers in mind. The subsequent raid tiers not so much. I can only imagine in the future that it will get worse and frustrating in some boss scenarios.
Pure assumption
Dev falls over and Aug is only decent because of cheat death
And yet, they brought a dev evoker to world first sark???
TWO augs (yea, can say that augs aren’t a real evoker spec.)
And if discounting time spiral, how many would bring holy paladins if you remove Devotion Aura?
This is the biggest issue I see with it. Yes it “works” currently, but it requires blizzard to cater to their handicap forever.
Remember when paladins had divine sacrifice to make an ally immune for 3 min?
They got tired of designing raid fights around it and removed it. This will most likely be the same (hopefully dinner rather than later)
If divine intervention can finish the last 2-3% of the boss with dots ticking, why is it such an issue if it happens?
^^^ I guess you’re allowed to make the assumptions in here?
Incorrect. Show me a log from your evoker where you just “fell over”.
Incorrect again. There haven’t been any encounters that are a struggle specifically because of range for the DPS specs. Nymue would be the closest if your raid comp was bad and didn’t have enough range, but that would be an issue if you simply had too many melee.
Buddy, I’m not going to argue with you. You’re not making any sense and seem to be too high on your pedestal to even see the facts. Here’s the Wowhead article by a mythic raider, I’m sure you’ll have LOTS in common with. There’s a chart showing the mobility of each class. It’s color coded, so you’ll have an easy time understanding it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the people there in the comment section.
Have fun buzzing people and telling them how “Incorrect” they are.
Gaslighting- buzzwords.
Someone might not like 25 yard range, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work.
Oh my God, an article on wowhead that panders to the themes of the forums?!?! What a shocking turn of events😂.
There’s a chart showing time spent casting while moving, not mobility. It’s a puff piece.
Apparently even color coding isn’t simple enough for you. If you’re too dense to understand that those aren’t the same things, I’ve already wasted enough time on you.
We’re more viable than warlocks. Just give us a gateway, and mysterious rocks. Can bow to the true purple class (demon hunter.)
The chart says so.
/sigh
You really need to go touch some grass.
Literally from the article right above the chart:
“I’m here today to put this argument to rest. Below is a chart of the least mobile to most mobile ranged DPS specializations ranked based on the rough percentage of their rotation in Single Target that is instant cast or able to be cast while moving.”
Reading is hard.
instant casts won’t help when the goal is to traverse 60 yards.
You need speed in that case. (Or a gateway.) Sometimes, you just really want to move from Point A to Point B.
Speaking of which - buff priests, they need more mobility for seeds on Tindral.
So is getting better at evoker instead of crying for crutches on the forums, but here we find ourselves .
Stay bad.
I know thinking is difficult for you, but think about how our lack of a ton of spells in our rotation combined with empowers being uncastable in hover doesn’t completely skew this statistic, lol.
Our percentage of our damage that happens while moving is what’s powerful about our kit, since most of it comes from disintegrate and ticks of fire breath/instant LF from burnout that are happening while mobile.
You can’t be this slow, you just can’t.
Can we talk about this? Priests need more movement speed, how else will my 18 priest and 2 tank raid succeed on Tindral? Just like my 18 evoker and 2 tank raid on Nymue. If people go to the wrong spots… what’s a feather going to do?
I can just play a different class. When do you think you’ll be able to read properly? They have courses online you can take, of course those involve reading as well. I wish you good luck in your endeavors either way.
Now, why is it so difficult for people to play another class instead of trying to change all classes to be the same?
I think it comes from a place of caring. Once people “move on” or play another class, it’s done. You have less people playing that class, which could then lead to less resources/attention to that class.
You want people to care. What you don’t want is for people to start playing another class. Also, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
