Shifting Sands Achievment and Black Qiraji War Tank

I try not to complain but honestly, this really made me butthurt.

Why did those with the Black Qiraji Battle Tank get ANOTHER mount, instead of having this special new model for it be awarded to ALL players who did the full quest chain before it was removed. We have nothing to show for it except an achievment.

The original gate openers (bugged or not) already have an amazing unobtainable mount, why not spread this to other veteran players who finished this before cataclysm… Seems like a hugely missed opportunity to give older players something (and obviously this is an opinion) they deserve after doing that massive questline that can no longer be done rather than give .001% of the player base ANOTHER unobtainable mount and others nothing. Remember these players needed an entire server to help them get this mount… why not reward the teams who helped that player?

Isn’t this post something like 13 years too late?

Did you even read anything? He’s angry with them getting another reskinned battle tank, and it not being something we can at least TRY to get.

Try to get or even just reward the others who helped those back in the day complete this full quest line. Many of us rang the gong, just after the gates were opened…

LOTS of us were lagged out by the event.

I doubt that we should be rewarded with a mount.

Yes, but you could still complete the entire chain until Cataclysm. I thought it would be best to reward everyone who went through that incredibly long chain rather than give this mount to a playerbase that already has a legendary mount…

Don’t feel bad. On my first server, there was a guy who intentionally waited until Server reset was going down to try and grief everyone else who already had the scepter completed and was waiting for him to finish. It didn’t go as he had hoped thankfully and the others got their tanks. But still it was a sad day in server history.

The Ysera gate opening event exacerbated the friction between native and transfer guilds. Since many guilds were hoping to participate in scepter creation quests and the reputation benefits of the all day world event, the opening itself had been delayed to August 12th, with sufficient warning for as many people as possible to participate. However, others were equally impatient for AQ content to be unlocked on the server. On August 8th 2006, Valafar, a warrior in <Axion> who had transferred to the server with the scepter quest partially completed, rang the gong in the early morning hours pre-maintenance, several days before the date several other guilds had agreed upon for the event. As a result, most of the world event occurred during the weekly maintenance window. Many players felt this cheated the rest of the server out of participation in the world event and prevented other scepter quest holders from receiving their epic Bug mounts. Others were more frustrated that Axion had resorted to a transfer to fulfill the part of the quest line they were as yet unable to accomplish (clearing BWL in five hours).

I remember stuff like that happening, those were the days when “rep” mattered and something like that could ruin you (he probably just went to another server, or something.)

Name omitted, in my post, since I think you can’t do that.

What’s ridiculous is it isn’t even the handful of classic scarab lords that benefitted a lot from it, but rather the thousands who ended up getting it when they transferred and used their scepter on the new servers and getting the achievement then.

Right, and i completely agree that that’s F’d, but the point of this topic was that they were given ANOTHER black battle tank instead of giving it to those with the shifting sands achievement that is no longer available… I think it’s pretty lame that the rest of the crews weren’t awarded for their efforts.
