They laughed when dual-wielding two-handed weapons was the top tier fury talent. And now look where we are.
Dual shield? Smash!

I would love for Gladiator Stance to make a return for warriors. I’d love to see it fleshed out as a whole spec.
man i wish druids could wear armor like that polar bear in that one movie
I support an increase in shield usage! Ranged weapons and mail armor, too! We have all this cool loot, let’s USE IT. Diversify!
It doesn’t let you tank
SPEAR/POLEARM AND SHIELD CLASS PLEASE!

This is it. Blizz needs to stop development on EVERYTHING and get this down immediately.
I am not sure how I feel about this when I am blood spec I like wielding a two-handed weapon to crush my foes and tank the bosses.
A shield would ruin DK play for me.
It is bad enough they rarely give us an actual two-handed sword, Last few patches its been axes and maces…
Most of the shields in the game are lackluster too - so many are super tiny.
Still, it would budge the needle on “not enough tanks.” That is a problem much larger than if you can use a shield or not.
To encourage people to tank they need to remove penalties for multi-specing. Right now, if a M10 Ret pal decides they will try out tanking, they are looking at a month of grinding to get up to M10 gear level. That’s dumb.
You want more tanks, make it easier to gear up tanks. And for people to seamlessly change roles in a queue (aka remove all Azerite rebuilding, let each spec have their own choices for each piece - exactly like the neck is).
Disagree. The shield as an aesthetic might not matter, but it generally makes tanking easier because it has Block as an additional mitigation option and it’s passive.
I roll both a brew and a pal tanking in the m10-12 range, so not an expert or anything. The difference between them is mostly due to the paladin’s bubble and utility - and the nearly endless interrupts. I guess you could argue the interrupt is due to the shield as that is what the spell is tied to… hehe. But mitigation isn’t really all that different.
Or, they can even have magic bubble shields.
And you think those massive glaives are light?
Same can be said for bows, guns, and crossbows. And what even are wands?
I mean an item is a shield regardless of what it’s made of. We’re getting a shield made out of an EYEBALL in 8.3.
NOT complaining - just saying that in a fantasy world you can make anything from anything.
Yes - especially the Legion ones. Most of them are composed of “energy” which weighs nothing.
The handles, well I got those upgraded to carbon-fiber, so they’re as light as a feather.
RIP Gladiator Stance.
You will be missed.
The answer to this is because demon hunters use glaives, and by definition, glaives are actually a very defensive weapon purely based on the idea of parrying and counter attacking. It’s why the vengeance demon hunter artifact weapon looks very much so like a tonfa but has hooks throughout the design to presumibly hook enemy weaponry and attacks to counter attack more thoroughly.
BRM is probably one of the easiest tank classes in the game since you DR for existing. Yes an “excellent” BRM will manage stagger perfectly, but the skill floor is so unbelievably low compared to other tanks it really doesn’t matter. The spec is like…4 buttons where you can honestly get by with using Purifying Brew whenever you screen flashes yellow for stagger.
What? Where the F is that coming from?
