Shattered Hand Race “Expansion”

They stopped honoring the traditions of the clan so they are nothing to me.

The only tradition they ‘stopped’ was the requirement to remove a hand in order to join. Which makes perfect sense why you’d want your spies and assassins to have both hands available.

Other than that, they still follow the traditions of the clan, including the tradition that the clan is always led by the strongest, which is why the new leader of the Clan is Thega Graveblade, as she usurped the former leader, Gordul, as she was the strongest in the Clan.

Which was Kargath.

Which was the story behind their formation. Ogre slaves who escaped and used a weapon as hand protesure.

Dead Orcs can’t be the strongest.

And it was also a barbaric practice that reduced the effectiveness of all Shattered Hand Orcs.

Losing a hand is just like losing an eye. It is to make you look cool. I did a thread on MMO Champion about it. Gordul and Bob actually have this too. Everyone knows it hinders you in battle won’t stop Blizzard from doing it.

Honestly, with all of the clans people have been able to RP as for 20 years with no issue, only to be retconned by these OCs that won’t get any lore for years to come, I think this whole orc heritage thing might be somewhat overpraised.

Yeah no…

Losing a hand doesn’t ‘make you look cool’ it reduces your abilities, because now you only have one hand to do important things with. In the case of the Shattered Hand, it also means you have a large blade attached to your wrist, which you can’t easily hide or get rid of, making it extremely difficult for you to do your job if that job is being stealthy and engaging in assassination and spying.

Likewise with losing an eye, it absolutely ruins your depth perception. You’ll make extremely easy mistakes that anyone with two eyes won’t make.

Azurathel is the most recent example of this. He lost an eye and a horn. Shows to make him look battle hardened. So far from the Horde Dracthyr NPCs they all seem to still are in control of all their limbs.

Yes Erevien, the Shattered Hand are rogues. That’s the typecast they’ve been fitted with.
They even leaned into it in WoD, where they brewed poisons and even have Toximancy.

As for where those on Azeroth came from, it’s real simple, orcs from all the clans aren’t monoliths and weren’t with the main group for one reason or another when it went to Draenor. This goes for all the clans to one extent or another I’m sure, part of why clans were discontinued during the lethargy.

BUT in light of all this I don’t think you care about all of that, and you have some kind of narrative as for why what you think is the case, but I don’t care about that, so…

A clan can’t thrive on a single class. That is why I likd the Outland offspring more. It had warlocks and warriors too. All in all the original Horde got downgraded hard when Thrall took reign and the Orc race got defanged. The darker parts were purged like Shadowmoon and their stargazing mysticism and Bonechewers and them being cannibals. But the shattred hands could not be done justice this way. If you want Horde rogues stay with the Deathstalkes. They always get their targets.

Shattered Hand Dwarf.
