I’m sure they are hoping to attract the casual animal crossing/stardew valley crowd…they aren’t going to do that with their normal advertising methods and locations.

To be frank….Blizzard shouldn’t be partnering with any company that uses AI-generated photos. Pinterest had announced recently that they are letting AI progream to use people’s photos that was taken from other sites and reposted there, as “their own” or something.

Could have done something similar without hitching us to another garbage site riddled with AI slop imagery.

They aren’t going to do that with the gameplay itself by needing to raid or run dungeons for items. They also going to pull people in from those games with the cost of the game AND a monthly sub…
But what % is actually going to be locked behind Midnight dungeons/raids. Going to bet it will be very little.
Not to mention follower dungeons and story mode raids are a thing now for that crowd as well.
“Cry” about the use of AI slop? No, this is a morally correct stance to take. It’s good to voice concerns about this.

so far we have an ambassador program that just sounds like players doing the work of google.
A Zillow promotion.
A Pintrest Promotion.
If I had never played this game before now and saw all the advertising for Midnight, I would ONLY think that this was a housing patch and not an entire new expansion. FB ads are all housing, IGN ads, all housing. Are the other systems not worth showing off in the same way?
Spent money and time on housing, cool. Beginning to think the “cost us a raid tier” comment was more real than flippant.
Protip: the people who mainly play cozy games will likely see how threadbare the current state of housing is comparatively and see that housing has an attached MTX currency attached to it, those people will leave rather quickly.
Obligatory “Ai slop detected” you have an art team, do better.

I love housing and love the idea of sharing screenshots. I love the idea of a camera that could take pictures in-game and put them on my wall in my WoW Housing.
I do not want a Pinterest account. I do not want a Zillow account. I do not want anyone having my data and sending me stuff. I refused to do Twitter integration and I refuse to participate in any of the contests that link data. I won’t link my Twitch to Bnet either.
I understand why companies do partnerships and it is all the rage. Blizzard x Pinterest.
It is not for me though. I find it offputting honestly.
I thought the Zillow one was an April Fools joke but…it is not.
Housing was so so so well done Blizz. Just take the W on that and stop with the cross promotions that feel icky and take the fun away.
