Sharding kills community and server identity

We do know what was in;

Vanilla - no sharding
Classic Demo - sharding everywhere

We also know what the devs have said.

Q: With CRZ and Phasing off the table for classic wow, how will you deal with population concerns?
A: Currently there is sharding on Classic WoW Demo, this is a special case. We understand sharding it antithetical to the feel of Classic WoW. But we may use sharding in the first couple weeks but we understand that doesn’t work well with World Firsts, etc.

Attempting to smash that square peg called Northshire Abby in to the round hole isn’t going to fool everyone.

I may be mistaken, but I believe that Ion said "starting areas " and not “starting zones”.

If I am mistaken, please let me know and provide evidence.

Where in the quote you postef does it say anything about the areas in which sharding might be used?

I believe that in that Q&A, Ion said starting areas, not starting zones.

Even in that often linked video, Ion only mentioned Valley of Trials and Elwynn if I am not mistaken. Neither one those is a level 10-20 zone.

I still think 1-20 on launch should be phased, just to cater to the INSANE rush of players I am expecting. Once server populations stabilise and the playerbase is distributed across the continents by zone/level they can pull it out. Either that or give a premium early access offer for those that want to buy in. I will happily pay to avoid queues/congested realms. In vanilla I intentionally chose a low pop realm so I didn’t have to queue up.

Zones that might require phasing
1-10Dun Morogh
1-10Durotar
1-10Elwynn Forest
1-10Mulgore
1-10Teldrassil
1-10Tirisfal Glades
10-20Darkshore
10-20Loch Modan
10-20Silverpine Forest
10-20Westfall
10-25Barrens
15-25Redridge Mountains

The switch of the argument when you’re wrong lol I love it

Nothing was switched, back to the dark you go.

The argument was, I love it when people are wrong and squirm oh buddy does it make me happy

I wasn’t wrong, HAHAHAH KTHXBYE

Yup totally not wrong… if you’re playing retail that is. You know this is a classic forum bud?

Sub zones must of been a patch after vanilla right Kappa

The map sure did, which is what you were saying

Ok I will switch up the argument just for you, its a subzone, its been sourced.

People want sharding to 20 now? Really? You want the Barrens sharded? If Blizz did this, I’d be gone in a heartbeat.

That didn’t have its own map which is what you were pushing

Sure you’re right, maybe the example was wrong, what I was pushing and you already read that is that its a zone.

But you didnt have to log onto another character to have a second go mate, XO

Yeah barrens sharding is simply unacceptable. If you’re getting sharded out of the areas that have dungeons that would not be cool at all

Lol you’re cute. Also you first said north shire is it’s own zone, which now you switched it to sub zone. So once again you’re wrong and you know it because you switched your own stance lol

Yes a sub zone is not a zone

You’re daft.

The only zones they listed when discussing it ended when you reach westfall/barrens and the like. I intend to hold them to that

It’s not. It’s part of a zone. Just like a slice of pie isn’t a whole pie.

You’re daft
