Once Druids get Dire Bear and Paladins/Warriors get Plate, Shaman fall off dramatically. Granted, 5mans aren’t the most crushing experience when it comes to mitigation, but you’re simply going to take more damage than anyone else to a significant degree, and that gap only widens spectacularly as people acquire raid drops.
