It’s almost like they are working finalizing their game that still have gamebreaking bugs… hmmm… maybe they will go to work on add ons after launch when they see what they do and/or trying to communicate with mod authors to change their add ons so they don’t do things they shouldn’t:smirk:

I don’t care either way honestly. The really detrimental parts of LFD and LFR and such are impossible to replicate with an addon.

It is. You can litteraly just use the ClassicLFG interface to find a group.

Nope! This add-on does not remove the communication required for grouping. First of all, its not a one-button click into a group. You click to invite someone or join a group and it will send a message to them that you set for asking them to group up.
This add-on also doesn’t automatically warp you to the dungeon, though that should be obvious.
All this addon does is imitate the exact same thing you’re going to do in major cities - it announces your group or desire to group in a place where other people are looking. Only now you don’t have to be in a major city for it, and this in turn will free up trade chat for… yknow… trade chat.
They don’t need to make this an add-on. This can exist as a separate website altogether. This could have been done on realm forums, or realm discords. It doesn’t break the experience nor can you even stop it no matter how hard you cry.

It does communicate with itself:
“Groups created using ClassicLFG are visible to all players using it on the Realm.”
If you create a group in the ClassicLFG addon, it will immediately be visible to every player using that addon on your realm, regardless of where they are or whether or not you said anything in the chat.

- I didn’t say myself, but we both know that this is a possibility.
- You will be back to retail quick enough, so don’t act like this is something that affects you all that much.

I probably won’t use it, just because it doesn’t look all that helpful. It’s already easy to make a macro for chat and hit the button periodically to get a group together. From what I can tell, this basically just gives you an interface to do that same process, and then automates it so you don’t have to manually type in chat or click a macro.
It’s a far cry from modern LFD. What made LFD so damaging was not really the assistance with matchmaking. First, it was cross server, so it didn’t result in interaction with people in your community. Second, it resulted in severely dumbed down story mode dungeons to enable 100% success for every group without the need for communication or coordination between party members. And third, it teleported everyone to the dungeon, which made the world feel less immersive.
This addon does none of those things, so I don’t think it will be a big deal. But if Blizz wants to break it, fine with me, because it’s not needed at all.
Not if you’re fighting this hard to use an lfg add on that effectively will change vanilla/classic lol. You some nastolgia feel with retail. That is not what Classic is. Take lfg, all parts of it, and lfr and don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Automating any communication in vanilla screws everything up. Why? Because Vanilla was 100% about the personal communications and connections. Don’t like it? Go back to retail.

I played with CTA in vanilla and this is CTA on steroids + pure caffeine, it’s not good for the community.

And people in the 1400’s knew the Earth was flat. Be careful what you “know” as a certainty.
Whether or not you want this functionality in the game, there is no argument to the idea that it completely changes the social dynamic of the original game for the reasons I have laid out many times.
Yes which is does by using chat channels. Chat channels that are visible to everyone regardless of whether they are using the add on or not.
There is no hidden behind the scenes communication going on.
