Sorry man. I agree with you… But this forum is not the place that’s going to be receptive of such ideas. Most folks using these forums are fossils that will say no to anything new just because it’s different. Forgetting that era servers will never change and that blizz would only introduce stuff like this as seasonal mechanics at this point.
Then explain how Blood elf paladins bend holy to their will. Then once you do, you will realize you are just repeating something that doesn’t make sense.
Also Sir Zeliek, is literally an undead paladin.
Forsaken Priests endure the pain of holy and it still heals them and others through their will and faith.
Holy has nothing to do with good or evil, it is simply willpower, faith, and belief.
There is simply no standing lore reason why they cannot, other than blizzard didn’t want to, they needed an additional race for healing and they chose Undead, but refuse to allow paladins as playable characters for the forsaken. Even when there has been undead paladins throwing the light around since vanilla.
Scarlet Praetorians have been around being undead since Cataclysm, and they seem to be fine using holy.
I’d say most of the suggestions are just some poor insert of what that person wants. It’s almost always nothing that would be new and innovative or worth putting in classic+. So if someone is asking for Horde Paladins and Alliance Shamans, that’s not exciting nor worthwhile and already exists in retail. Thus… go play retail.
Classic+ should be the stuff they nixed and implemented or something new like Territory Control events. Could easily make them PvE or PvP. “gIvE mE mY tOyS” is an ideal for retail.
It’s not ALL Classic players that want changes. Unfortunately, Blizz already opened up that can of worms, back when they released BC, when they started chanting “#somechanges”, so here we are.
What “experience” do you think we’re looking for?
I like Era 'cause it’s the closest to original WoW ('cause Blizz put #somechanges in). Wrath Classic has even more changes like adding SW Docks, and the original Darkshore Boat from Menethil Harbor is now to Northrend. Not to mention the extra flightpaths.
HOWEVER, there is a feature that Retail has, that I wish was in Classic. That’s if a player is flagged (Horde or Alliance), you can’t buff nor attack them, unless you flag yourself. OFC, this pertains to PvE servers. PvP servers will work, as normal.
Well, I didn’t quite shoot down the OP’s idea. I just pointed out how it doesn’t really change the game and was confused on how the OP would find Vanilla “less garbage” with just opening up Paladins to the Horde and Shamans to the Alliance. I mean according you they’re:
And, OP is seeking a “less trash” Vanilla, so the simple unlock is not gonna help them out.
Even my generousity got yelled at so w/e.
Nah, it’ll “die again”, when people get bored of it, again. It’s a never ending cycle.
I don’t see how unlocking the classes to the opposite factions will “better Vanilla” for the OP. OP thinks:
Unlocking the classes won’t change the content, the OP still has to go through with their unlocked classes.
What I find most interesting is how often you say both Vanilla and Retail are trash, easy and or constantly bagging on people saying they must be plebs or bad at the game. For someone who already made their statements stating you really know nothing about the original Vanilla nor do you follow retail your opinions seem null and void to me. I’ve been playing WoW since 04 and while the story is quite vast within the game. It’s also always been (especially in the earlier days) a game of Horde versus Alliance and each bringing different gameplay to the table for PvE and PvP progression.
Classic plus isn’t some Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Video upgrade you can get just because you want things to be your way.
And before you comment with your same washed up reply. How about be original and think of something with actual foundation. If you don’t know what WoW always was in the earlier days. Stop forcing your ideas on people who simply don’t agree and think you’re trying to change a game that has changed so much for the ones who’ve played it since the beginning.
If Blizzard does a classic+ version then this sounds like a fun idea to me if they are keeping the same races in vanilla. But honestly I just want a fresh classic era release already so I can have one more chance to do all the classic raids while being a horde again. I’m currently playing on classic era on alliance because the pve cluster was mainly alliance and have a lot of raiding guild options and I’ve also heard bad things about Whitemane and hate pvp servers lol. Although the horde side is growing in the pve cluster so if we hear no news from blizzard by mid to late summer on what they are doing next I may just start over there so I can try resto shaman lol.
I’m all for making rogues life miserable while leveling. But, I’ve had a bunch of 60’s chase me down. I think I might be on a certain guild KOS cuz I have notice the ones from that guild especially come after me. lol
Its all good. I kited and got away from a 60 Enh Sham in stv yesterday. He came back later and got me when I let my guards down. It was so funny to viper sting him (cant sham’s dispell VS?) and conc shot stun proc’n was great. =)
