We need a better tank:healer:dps ratios. 1:1:3 is what cause longer ques and wait times.
They still need to fix the tank shortage. This won’t do that, but it won’t hurt it, either.

I’m all in favor of additional choices and customization.
I’m picturing Blizzard trying to balance an additional spec for shaman when shaman already needs so much more love…
Yeah blizz needs to do something about the tank shortage. Queue times for instanced content is getting ridiculous.
I get that is probably players that cause people to not want to tank but blizz cant just leave it like it is.
Either give more classes a tanking spec and/or change game play so more people want to do it.
I dont see the tank shortage situation getting any better in the future.
I’d be ok with queue priority for a few runs if you tank a few runs on an alt. I do that anyway, and ought to get faster queues on my healers or dps alts as payment.

Instead of making more tank specs I think Blizzard could spend some time and attention on the existing tank specs. If tanking becomes more fun then maybe we will see an increase in players choosing to tank.
They DO spend time and attention on those tanking specs, they just aren’t good at fixing them.
Look at how long it took them to take ignore pain of the GCD. They are just not good at this.
The specs are ok. The role isn’t.
They’re not good at it because they don’t play their game enough. At least that’s my assumption - it would be easy to make player friendly changes to the game if the developers could place themselves in the shoes of the player.
Community problem
I don’t think that it’s the lack of variety as much as the responsibility a tank has in M+. Tanking is literally the most important role in keys. It also needs to be said that tanks are the first to get blamed for everything and the last to be thanked for doing their job.

This isn’t going to happen. They are studying mobile games.
The best you are going to get is more tank choices, not good balance between tanks. Stop even asking for that. They are busy playing Raid Shadowlegends.

Adding more tank specs won’t magically solve the tank shortage problem.
Lol mobile games, that’s so sad. Not a good enough of a reason to not put some work into the MMORPG, the reason for most of Blizzard’s success.
Shaman tanks would be cool. Would be nice to play enhance again and not wonder why.
