Shaman leveling spec?

Planning to roll a shaman for the first time to level alongside my friend’s warrior. General consensus seems to be Enhancement until either 41 or 60, then Elemental to 70. Sound about right? I played Druid and Lock in OG so any Shaman tips would be greatly appreciated.

That’s what everyone told me and what I’m doing right now. Only lvl 20, but it seems to be working.

Still able to heal dungeons, I just through on the healing pieces I’ve collected.

Elemental and enhancement are both really good starting from any level. My recommendation is to play what you find most appealing and fun. Enhancement is the most efficient in terms of having the least downtime, but if you don’t like enhancement then it doesn’t make much sense to play it.

Thanks for the replies. I think I’ll try enhance first as having to sit and drink starts to annoy me fairly quickly. I’ll just play him when my friend is on too so just having heals and totems should help immensely with his warrior charging in first most of the time anyway

Tbh I think just go enhance the whole way. Elemental is easier to gear up at 70, but I found enhance to be the better leveling spec since it has basically no downtime at all

Yea shamanistic rage cuts down on drinking a ton if you use it consistently (not just when you’re oom) and the damage reduction is pretty substantial as well. And once you get water shield at 62 you just never have to worry about mana ever again

Basically just two things to keep in mind for shaman leveling specs, and you’ll be fine.

a) Don’t spec elemental before 35ish (Lightning Mastery).
b) Don’t be resto (unless you’re doing some sort of dedicated healer group thing).

Long as you do those, you’ll be fine.

Enhance is amazingly good for leveling imo. You should have basically no downtime once you get Water Shield.
